Fine the current ottawa senators have NEVER won a cup and the city of ottawa has gone the longest with out winning the stanley cup since it's inception as the NHL championship trophy (when was the last time any ottawa team won anything?)

Well that would depend on your interpretation of "NHL Championship Trophy"....because the NHL started to compete for the Stanley Cup in 1917-1918 when the NHL Champions would face off against the PCHA/WCHL/WHL champions.........with the winner receiving the Stanley Cup (with toronto being the first NHL team to win the Cup).

Then that would make the City of Victoria (WCHL Champs) the holder of the longest Stanley Cup drought as they defeated the Montreal (NHL champs), and have not won since.

If your interpretation is when the NHL competed for the Stanley Cup exclusively, then Ottawa's last Cup win in 1927 would fit your interpretation.
