They're not. In the specific some can be just fine and are excellent as guard dogs but in general they attack other dogs & children and have many genetic mental problems. Sanford can probably relate.

i've never seen this behavior in one before, it really depends on how the dog was raised. ziggy said his dog (a boxer) was attacked by a cocker spaniel and his dog did nothing to it back. we had a cocker spaniel until 2 years ago and never did she attack anyone or anything. and i know people with pit bulls that would probably jump on intruders and lick them rather than bite them.

No, it doesn't really depend on how the dog was raised. Most animal behaviour is genetic in origin. Nurture can factor in yes, but it is less important.

After having seen my father kick the poop out of three german shepherds (separate instances) in defense of other pets, having had one german shepherd on my street as a child put down for biting, having had my neighbour's german shepherd kill itself by headbutting a fence repeatedly to try to get at another neighbour's poodle and having kicked the poop out of two german shepherds in defense of other pets myself, I will never trust them.

Not only that but it's not just anecdotal evidence. They are known for their pack mentality, as are huskies and these things are basically wolves, not family pets.

Pick a dog that has been bred by humans for kinder, more fun traits IMO. That's a pet. A German Sherpherd is more like a tool.

pit bulls are great dogs. when i decide to get a new dog it will be a pit or an american bulldog
