Bane will instantly become the greatest Batman movie villain ever.

Less lunatic than the Joker, more pure evil than Ra's Al Ghul, more intelligent than Scarecrow, and more physically powerful than all of the above combined.

The only real super-villain in the Batman series.

Disagree. The best thing the Joker has going for him is a combination of cunning and the ability to act and cause destruction for no real purpose other than destruction.

Bane, on the other hand, Is cold and calculating in a way that presents no moral dilemma and allows him to take less risks while still inflicting maximum damage. He just thinks about things way more. Not as creative or impulsive, but more dangerous.

It's joker's unpredictability that makes him so devastating though. Bane has nothing on Joker. Joker's super-insanity makes him feared by virtually every other villain on Earth. When Luthor's son almost destroyed the entire multiverse who finally killed him? Joker. And it was because Luthor wouldn't play with him because "joker's wild".

I agree with you, but in the context of the Nolan universe every character has had a vital flaw.

For Scarecrow, he was actually a coward.
Ra's Al Ghul? Predictable.
Two Face? Just a broken man with a gun.
Joker was incredibly dangerous, but also not up to a physical confrontation with Batman.

Bane, however, I believe will present no obvious flaws other than a complete lack of compassion... I believe that he will cause devastation on a level previously unseen in the Batman film series. (except maybe when schwarzenegger froze everything, but that was (frank)ing silly.)

Perhaps in the Nolanverse he will be but I doubt he will be capable of producing devastation, chaos and fear like the Joker. There's nothing scarier than a madman.

I know who I'd bet on in a throw down anyway: Joker.

In a straight up fight, Bane takes it easily... of course that would never happen, because Joker will never play by any set of rules, including those he makes up just to pretend he has some.

In Arkham Asylum he says over the loudspeaker:

"Now that I'm in charge of Arkham there's only one rule. And anyone caught breaking it will be put to death. No ifs, ands or buts. And the best thing about the rule??? IT'S A SECRET! AHAHAHAHHAAH"

That guy is not losing to Bane.
