so the preds were up 4-2 going into the 3rd against the sharks tonight. then, the epic collapse and 6 goals against later, lose 8-5. i and many others can't even begin to describe the anger right now.

so i'm curious as the title of this thread implies. is this a case of leafs agony? is this what being a leafs fan feels like. things looking good for awhile, getting you happy and excited. just for them to sh*t on your parade?

It's like a car wreck, you almost have to look at it when you pass it.

Some leaf fans actually attend games with paper bags on their heads to send a message to the ownership, when they believe the team is on the wrong track.

In Toronto you can find some fans with paper bags on their heads to make light of the situation.

In Ottawa you can find quite a bit of Sens fans this season who have done a really good job disguising themselves as empty seats: http://espn.go.com/nhl/attendance/_/sort/homePct

You seem to get quite a charge about a few empty seats at some Senator games. How many fans will be in ACC watching the leafs after April the 6th??

You must be really scraping the bottom of the barrel, thinking that fan attendance equals a better team on the ice.

Ottawa Senators 79 points........... PLAY OFF BOUND

toronto maple leafs 56 points....... TEE OFF TIMES BOOKED for April 7th

Meh, I'm sure 18K+ a night makes them profitable. As long as they can afford to spend up to the cap I don't think it matters if they are at 97% or 100% capacity.

I can never understand why a Sens fan gets excited about the playoffs when it has been the most miserable experience for them as fans.

they are the only Canadian team that doesn't fill to capacity, which is a cause for concern. Also, that building can fill to at least 107.1% capacity, so 97% is deceiving.

As long as the team is making enough money to spend to the cap I don't think it should matter to Sens fans if the place isn't selling out. It has no impact on the team whatsoever.

in hockey, maybe. in college bball, like here in ky. forget about it. the #1 ranked attendance for many years in a row. always a sold out game. compareable to the leafs for hockey as far as fanbases go. i'm just a fan of both hockey and uk. people here are just as obsessive and serious and live and die with the team as i'm sure most of the leafs' fans are.

Every team's (On Hockeybuzz) got that one fan who's obsessed with pissing off a certain other fanbase. Thankfully, Montreal and Toronto have dozens. It's so awesome.

But they seem to think that lauding attendance figures over other teams somehow makes up for 44 years of Playoff failure.

Whoopee the leafs average 1174 more fans per game.........when is the parade???

Speaking of playoff success..........three years ago, the Sens went deeper in the playoffs than the leafs have since 1967.

his posts on this site are 30% Leafs related, 30% Obama related, 30% Global warming related, 9% arguing how Fox is, in fact, fair and balanced, and lets say... .5% Sens related. The accuracy of that is +/- .5%

You have to realize the leafs are one of the worse teams in the league and no matter how bad they finish they won't have their own first round pick. What else do they have to talk about? They need something to try and make themselves feel better.

You have to realize the Habs are a mediocre team with crappy prospects, no cap room to improve, and a core not good enough to win the Calder cup locked up for 5 more years.

yes they are overpaid. everyone overpays for UFA's (I realize Gomez was a trade) and especially montreal and toronto. eventually toronto will have to do the same thing montreal did this summer. all leaf fans talk about is how burkie is going to make a splash on the free agent market. how do you expect him to do that if he doesn't overpay? and no not everyone dreams of playing in toronto. money talks and bullpoop walks. if toronto didn't make that ridiculous kessel trade they'd have a franchise player on an entry level salary. instead they get a soft, one dimensional thirty goal scorer at 5 mil

Franchise player? How do you know? How do you know that player will be any better than Kessel?
And the Leafs won't sign any big name UFA's because there aren't any. It's a horrible year in the free agent market.

And Kessel is a fantastic talent.
