He was projected to be. Maybe he will be, maybe not.

he can barely crack the roster right now.... i wouldnt bank on it. there are only 3-5 elite shutdown d man in the league... i hardly think schenn will be one of them...

*yawn*

So, to be clear, you think that Schenn, who you say can barely crack the roster, probably won't be elite, but somehow Eberle, Omark, Nash, Petry, etc, who are NOT cracking the Oilers roster but are the same age or older, might be? Even MPS did NOT crack the roster at the same age as Schenn did. I assume you're ruling out that MPS will be near the top of the league, since he didn't crack the roster at 18 like Schenn did. Or will you be fabricating another BS excuse for him?

so what? alot of them were weak

musta been nice seeing tyler myers make you guys regret taking Schenn......

I think lots of teams regret not taking Myers right about now. It looks like he probably should've went 3rd overall in that draft, but he didn't have his huge breakout season in the WHL until after the draft so what can you do.

He may have a sophomore slump like Schenn next year though. The difference in talent may not look as huge at that point.

Way to soon to be calling Schenn a bust.

ok i never said any of those players will be elite? or even close for that matter.

eberle is the only one out of those with elite potential and even that is a long shot.

who is calling him a bust? hahaha do you guys know how good a shutdown d man has to be to be considered ELITE. schenn could be an all star and it might not make him "elite" schenn will be good but to say he will be elite like some are is a huge homer statement.

If a defensive defensive makes an all-star team, he is "Elite". Do you know how hard it is for shutdown guys to get all-star selections?

I'm messin' with the great exaggerator. I've got no problems with Schenn, ridiculous to argue his potential to me. 4-5 years down the road will tell.

maybe inside the toronto market place..........but no where else. Most pundits criticized the leafs for leaving him in the NHL last season......he would have benefited from a year in the AHL.

I would LOVE for you to find me one link of an article that says Toronto should have put Luke Schenn in the AHL. Because, if you find me one, I'll show you a journalist who is an absolute moron.

And no, it wasn't just the Toronto market place comparing Schenn to Foote. Most major hockey publications were making those comparisons.

That was my point. If there is a journalist that was arguing he should be in the AHL, he should be fired.
