For me, it'll be the first train going east, and others will take the first train going west, from either the pisimi station or the Bayview station (one on each side of the arena) departing every five minutes or so before and after games, that will carry 10,700 passengers per hour, each way..... so 100% of the people who use the new LRT will be on their way in way less than an hour after a game ends

Plus there's also the north south line (already in operation) that many other people will take ......... it departs every 8 minutes or so, from the Bayview station (beside new arena)

There will also be buses to Gatineau as well I suspect.

It will be a much better exit from games than the mess we currently have.

What exactly is the mess getting in and out of the arena. It doesn't look all that bad on a map?

why's the traffic on the roads so bad during rush hour then
- daeth

Ottawa city council, for years have been trying to force people out of their cars, and onto public transit.

They installed a LOT of "traffic calming measures" to slow down traffic, where it's not needed.

Installed bike lanes that removed a lane of traffic.

"Modernized" a few streets and removed lanes of traffic.

Removed bus bays, so that when they stop to pick up passengers, all traffic comes to a stop, until the bus moves again.

They've not kept up with building new roads or adding lanes to meet the demand.

I've explained this many times. They built the access roads to the parking lots at the CTC, between the Arena and the parking lots ........... so cars have to be stopped to allow people, who've already parked, to cross the streets to get to the Arena, and vice versa after games.

Most other Arenas have the access roads around the perimeter of the parking lots, and when you get to the game, you walk right to the Arena, without having cross streets, and after games, vice vera..... like in Philadelphia for example

ottawa fans seem indifferent to their team. hopefully they win the rookie tournament so they can attract 4 more fans per game. im rooting for ottawa this weekend. the french call it...le charity

Watched game last night. Leafs lost game, lost fight. Leafs #1 draft pick looked pretty weak in his own end. But he seemed willing to handle puck, his skating looked good.

Nice to have a scoreboard.

I work on the outskirts of the City and can make it to work (75 kms away) hitting only three stoplights. But, had to go downtown 2x this past week. Q'way is a parking lot. I believe they have had a 10 year plan to strangle traffic. LRT may be the solution when it comes on line next year. But, I think they have choked the entire region to justify the billions spent on LRT.

No accident that the crossover for the two LRT lines is directly under the proposed new arena.

Risk for Jensen Beach is lowered as eye of Irma shifts westward. Will not be direct hit but surge can still do extensive damage. In a couple of places, the island width, where road A1A runs, narrows to about 40 metres. A 3 ft surge puts those parts of A1A at risk of being washed out.

Phone calls have been made and everyone has moved inland. We are going down in mid October.

Stay safe.

oh. i missed it. didn't bother watching.

when you have great young talent on the nhl roster these tournaments have little meaning and entertainment value. Most will never see the NHL. Still rooting for you guys to do well. Could bring forth some summer talk material.

getting my auston matthews rookie card worth a few hundreds bucks yesterday by luck was the big winner for me.

Pretty big grain of salt required...

Liljegren was pretty much as advertised. I hope this quiets down the talk of him playing in the NHL this year. This guy needs a LOT of work.

The stuff he is missing, can be taught.

I don't know man, I think the first game of the preseason where most of the players involved will never be NHLers is basically all you need to know. Sens winning tonight basically guarantees them the cup.

i used to watch these games. when i was praying for that next top line young player to come along. now that we have them....these rookie thingys are so irrelevant. we have more youth than we can fit into our line up as it is. let the next wave take their time and develop.

Kind of sad that you can't appreciate the raw hockey emotion of a rookie camp. They play with great passion and intensity. I have gone to a few of the games. Sat near the scouts and GMs. They cheer for all the kids and talk openly about good plays made by opposing players.

Best was one year in Oshawa and we sat behind family (mom, dad, brother, aunt uncleand friends of one the kids playing for the Blackhawks. By the end of the period I was cheering for the kid. He made the NHL and last year the Hawks traded him to Montreal (Denault).

You spend way too much time without enjoying the magic in the game.

Really. So naive in understanding the ways of the hockey Gods. They are incredibly capricious and are known to punish hubris.

Who are you to tell me what I should and shouldn't enjoy, old man? I have better things to do than watch players that aren't going to be in the league.

I follow the NHL and the rest of my time is spent as an assistant coach on my son's team. I see their joy and passion. Get over yourself you (frank)ing idiot. You have no place to tell me what part of the game I appreciate and miss out on. I see the magic with my son's team and now in the nhl with kids like marner Matthews nylander. It's enough for me. I have a life outside of hockey too. Which is why I don't troll people from church, you goof.

He's not played much on NA sized ice surfaces ......... if he's eligible, he would benefit from playing the in the AHL.
