More important question: when will EK65 be healthy enough to play. IMO, no guarantees he's ready to start Oct. 4:

I agree .......... but leaf fans insist on bringing it up when it suits them, and when a Sens fan does the same, then it's wrong ............ and they just can't see the contradiction.

The Ottawa Senators moved to St. Louis in 1934 after suffering losses of $60,000 over the previous two seasons.

The St. Louis Eagles finished last in the 1934-35 NHL season and folded.

Many players from the Senators played amateur senior league after the NHL team moved, and that "Senators" amateur team folded in 1954.

This team has nothing to do with those teams, and to pretend it does is ridiculous.

- BINGO!

Thank you Bingo! Good to know - I wouldn't anticipate either Spatso or Dopes to acknowledge this interesting bit of history. They are to be kind, thick as a brick.

I thought you knew better than that.

Can you explain why he needed surgery at the end of the playoffs, if he was "perfectly OK"?

Karlsson was badly injured just before the playoffs started, and even missed three games.

Karlsson played the entire postseason with fractures in his left foot, he was forced to miss the third period of game 5 vs the Rangers, and in fact re-injured the same foot in game 5 vs the Pens, and missed part of the second period, and did not return for the third period.

I wonder, did you see how "perfectly OK" he was at the NHL awards?

unbelievable

- D0PPELGANGER

LOL I love how you buy into that.

Athletes play entire seasons with injuries that need surgery. How many players after EVERY SINGLE PLAYOFFS have surgery.

How about you address my point, which was simple and crystal clear. Karlsson was able to play, effectively. Other teams had STAR players who were out, period.

You won the 28th pick!

"You can't help but respect a player like that that plays in a ton of situations and just seems to be so effective and make it look it easy at times even when it was known that he was injured and he was playing through it," said Ryan McDonagh, whose New York Rangers lost to the Senators in the second round. "I've played through injuries similar to my foot, too, in past playoffs. It was pretty incredible to see the things he was able to do."
- spatso

It was heroic!

Love how you guys are getting sucked in to the drama.

He OPTED to wait til after the season to have surgery. That is a far cry from being absolutely unable to play.

They are buying the whole thing hook line and sinker.

I am sure it was painful. Nobody has surgery for fun.

I am equally sure that the reason he played was because the injury was such that he could play.

How long was Pacioretty out with a broken neck?

There is the story, and then there is the reality.

It's a shame his last season in Ottawa will be shortened.

I am betting on a miraculous recovery in time for the season... or maybe he opts for a longer summer break since you know carrying that team for the past few years has got to be tiring.

leaf fans ............. thinking that Karlsson was playing at 100% after being injured in the latter part of the Season, and then still at 100% when injured again during playoffs.

guess that have to have their fantasy.

Oh, did I make up the fact that the leafs exited the playoffs in the first round, and the Senators, despite all their injuries, and players missing games on the injured list, went much much further in the playoffs .......... in fact, they went to double overtime in game seven of the ECFs.

The only people making shit up here, are leaf fans who, in their world, think that the leafs had a better season/playoffs than the Senators did.

nobody said that. we said the Leafs are in a better situation. big difference.

but youve been wrong all over the place, youre emotionally triggered and a mess.

the blue jays made the final four ib back to back years but it was obvious they were old and teams like the Yankees and Red Sox with their youth were in better situations than them and this year isnproving that.

Another example. Ducks went further than the Oilers but its clear which team is in a better situation. You'd have to be a (frank)ing idiot SpatsDoO0pps to think that team is the Ducks.

So, was I wrong about athletes playing through injuries and opting for surgery later?
Was I wrong about the difference being that Karlsson could play at a very high level and the Boston and Pittsburgh players were unable to play, period.

The funny part is Sens fans thinking he will miraculously be much better when he returns.

How much better exactly do you think he is going to be? Do you think he'll score 75 goals, 180 points, be a + 217 ?

What in the actual (frank).

How about you argue that the Bruins and Penguins injuries didn't happen? I can't wait to see you debate that, instead of ignoring everything counter to whatever dumbass point you are trying to make.

You and Spatso are the (frank)ing masters at ignoring everything you don't like. Trades, injuries, time-frames, actual cup wins, head to head playoff results, the best rookie crop in NHL history...

You are being a (frank)ing moron with this bullpoop.

Who? The only way that argument was EVER made in here is "relative to expectations".

The Sens are built to win NOW. Despite other teams having catastrophic injuries, they failed. Now they are just older.

The Leafs were expected to contend for a lottery pick. They made the playoffs and took the Presidents trophy winners to 6 games, 5 in OT and many people believed they ultimately cost the Capitals the series against Pittsburgh.

So at a literal level, the Sens had the better season (finished higher, went further)

The Leafs fared better against expectations.

Do you understand the concept of "relative to expectations".
