yeah, just makes you wonder. Why would a lockout do that to some players?
- prock

the avg goals per game jumped like 1 per game... Powerplays were all the rage ..if you got PP time you got a lot of chances

that was the first year after the lockout. A lot of players had some big years . Gionta had 48 goals ffs

That was the outlier not the rest of the seasons. Solid 70 point player otherwise

- senstroll

Dude had 596 points in 609 games (excluding his rookie year) until he got his knee taken out by Edler at the World Championships.

Was a point per game or better 4 times in 8 years, never fell below 70 points (aside from the lockout shortened year) while playing with guys like Tuomo Ruutu and Sergei Samsonov.

He hasn't been the same since that injury.

Really good player who was worn down by injury and the weight of trying to carry a garbage team/goalie for a decade.

Still the most productive player from the 2003 draft.

lol what? Staal had 28 points. Stillman 26. The next best forward was Danny Briere with 19.

Ward played out of his mind, yeah, but he still only had a .920 Save percentage and didn't get the start in game 4 vs Buffalo, where Martin Gerber got a shutout after Ward gave of 4 goals in 13 minutes the game before.

Ward came up big in big moments, but that team outscored everybody.

first reaction: those point totals aren't that high.

After thinking about it for a second: oh he means in the playoffs, not the 82 game regular season.

Staal put up 100 points in the regular season that year. 45 goals. He was no slouch. He made the olympic team.

They were once compared to the Sutter family, now, I've seen them referenced as the most overrated family of players they've ever seen. So weird to see them all decline like they have. Two of them due to injury.

There was someone on the Leaf boards that used to scream and shout how amazing they all are, and that Jordan, Marc, and Eric would all make the 2018 olympic team. Can't remember who it was.

The poster called "The President" maybe?

Jordan and Eric are still pretty effective.

Jordan's the best in the league at what he does. It just happens that what he does doesn't include putting up points, where he's as average as average gets.

Marc is a very young has-been and Jared isn't even a point per game player in England.

He will play in Belleville to start season. Dorion says he is close to being an NHL regular, age 21.

I did not go, not my thing, but they estimated that the "show" drew 3 quarters of a million people to the "show" over 4 days. First show by this outfit in North America ...... the local media just can't stop talking about it????

Over a month later, and nothing else in the news in Ottawa.

Shocking.
