Congrats on your win-now team winning the 28th overall pick.

When a team finishes the season as one of the top four teams, playing in the Conference Finals, your drafting position is going to be in high 20's or (now) in the 30s.

Maybe you did not notice but the Senators were one of top four teams in these playoffs ............. it was all over the sports channels, don't know how you could have missed it?

This is most likely what you're tax dollars go towards.

Mistaking "you're" for "your" - or vice versa - is a common writing error most people have made at least once.

1. "You're" is short for "you are."
2. Use "you're" when describing someone: You're beautiful.
3. "Your" shows possession.
4. Use "your" when showing possession: Your dog is cool.

You mean my almost wagering acumen.

Most of those sites offer start up bonuses. Like a drug dealer trying to get you hooked.

they match your first deposit. So, it would have been $200 to me. Not a big deal.

I'm not much of a gambler, but I do so from time to time. Partly to add a little fun to things.

there are quite a few things that have played out very unlike most would have expected this year.

Maybe next time.

Seriously. I know that you have a good hockey mind and sometimes you can be highly insightful.

Ottawa has committed to building around Karlsson and playing a counter attacking game off of a 1-3-1. Nothing special in playing a 1-3-1, most teams follow that approach, Ottawa is better than most.

But, Ottawa has invested in building a strong D with the ability to drive the play from the back end. They have two players in Chabot and Harpur they believe will make the team out of training camp next year. They have two more in Englund and Jaros that they believe are not far off in playing in the NHL.

I think the Sens want Phaneuf for at least one more year. He was an extremely positive influence on the young guys throughout the playoffs and I have no doubt that the Sens would not make it past Boston or the Rangers without the outstanding play and leadership of Phaneuf.

With the young guys they will be adding next year I think it is imperative that they keep Phaneuf. I believe the Sens will move Methot + for more offence. Many believe Claesson was Ottawa's 2nd best playoff Dman and I believe he will be paired with Karlsson next season. Dorion believes White makes the team and Brown has a very good shot at making the team out of training camp as well.

- spatso

Yes. We're well aware that Ottawa has committed to a poor style of hockey, and will regress accordingly.

Yes such a poor style of hockey, it lead them to within one goal, in OT, from advancing to the finals.

leafs blew their load this season, and were kicked to the curb in the first round ........... there is no reason, now, to see that they will be any better next season........ perhaps another re-build is in order?

respectfully disagree. It IS a winning way of hockey, IF you have the offensive weapons. Boston and LA both played defensive stifling hockey, and depended on elite offensive/two way weapons to score goals, when given limited chances to do so (like Kopitar, Williams, Gaborik, Carter, or Bergeron, Marchand, Krejci, Horton, Lucic).

But Ottawa can't roll out offensive weapons like that. They need about 2-3 TOP forwards to do so.

On top of that, their D isn't nearly as tight as those teams were.

When's the parade?

If the Leafs can snag a PP QB maybe another re-build will be avoided.

Try harder Dopey.

If you listen to TSN Montreal 690 you know they go on forever about how weak the Canadiens are down the middle and how much they would like to have a centre like Kyle Turris (backed up by Pageau and Brassard). It was apparent in the series against Rangers just how feeble Montreal has become down the middle. Obviously the Sens depth at centre was one of the primary reasons the Sens took out the Rangers in 6 (Pageau, Pageau, Pageau).

For those of you who do not fully appreciate Kyle Turris you need to look at the kind of all round game played by Bergeron and Toews. Turris plays a full 200' game usually against the very best player on the opposing team. In the third period and overtime he has been a dominate player for the Sens all year. The Canadieans should be so lucky as to have a centre of Kyle Turris' calibre.

- spatso

Turris is a very good player. Every team in the league could find room for him. The Habs would LOVE to have him.

I don't listen to 690 and I don't think you quite understand what I was suggesting but probably because you are legitimately retarded.

Agreed. Any team lacking a quality 3rd line center would be wise to pay as high as a 2nd round pick for him.

LOL

I see him as a good 2nd line center, and a bottom half first line center.

He saw us saying it about the sens, so he wants to use it now. He does this from time to time, without realizing why something that's true for one team isn't true for another team in a completely different(and in the Leafs' case, better) situation.

He understands the concept.

It is just that he has nothing to fight with. Sonnets are not being composed about the Sens lucky glory run. In fact, nobody gives a sh1t, except to laugh at them trying so damn hard to get that 28th pick and laugh even harder at the aging team with a cheap-ass owner, and some horrible contracts and one notable prospect.

It's been a season, isn't it time for Ottawa to change coaches again?

Logan Brown regresses in junior, but has a good shot at making the sens.

he's not drinking kool-aid. what's funny about the sens is this is how they operate.

Wait, did he lead his team in the playoffs, or did he underperform because of an injury?

Which is it?
