The Sens have among the least man games lost to injury int he league. Perhaps good luck is the only thing that has gotten them this far. Very likely given that they roll out one of the oldest rosters in the league.

prockso back from banishment and pulling make believe facts out of his ass already

Ottawa is middle of the pack in terms of man games lost...........the leafs on the other hand have the 2nd or 3rd least amount of man games lost.

what was that about luck getting you where you are

Ottawa on the far left, near Toronto.

I'd think a team of young 20 year olds are probably more likely to stay injury free than a team of geriatrics like the Sens.

Perhaps your stats inlude a player like Mcarthur, who hasn't played in almost 2 years.

look at the graph I posted....it has the up to date stats as of like 3 days ago. sens have the 12th most man games lost.....leafs have the 2nd least.

how was your 3 week ban or whatever.....did you and spatso have time to figure out the voices in your head?

I doubt Ottawa's stats include macarthur....unless the leafs stats include lupul and Horton.

3 week ban for "disrespecting the military". LOL. I have no respect for them. What's the big deal, I don't think they deserve any.

I found it comical, Canadian military need HB mods to stick up for them. It's like HB mimics real life.

The date at the top of my graph is March 25. That's just 6 days old. Can't you count?

Your chart includes Clarke Macarthur (as noted in the 6th bullet).

6th bullet. Leafs doesn't include Horton and Lupul (they are in light blue) Sens INCLUDES Macarthur in the darker blue)

Not a true representation unfortunately

So, now that we've concluded that you're full of shyt, and the Sens have been very lucky, as a really old, declining team, to be relatively injury free, can we move on?

even if macarthur's 74 games were removed from Ottawa's total number.......they've still lost more man games to injury than the leafs, and have won more games.

so yeah, I'm happy to move on.

So to be a pain, but going by your graph the Sens have 4 (four) more man games lost to injury.

So, you can't tell how many games were lost to injury, when the bottom axis is labelled "Total Team Man Games lost to Injury"?

Is that what you're saying? It's too hard for you to figure that out?

still more......and I mean for a team of geriatrics vs a team of kids.

I think it's also important to note who Ottawa is losing. the guys missing games aren't plugs like pyatt or boro......the guys missing games are guys like stone, methot, anderson etc.

using total man games lost really only paints half the story. we could have 300 man games lost, but if the guys we're losing are (like I said) borowiecki, chris Kelly, tom pyatt......then really, who gives a poop.

I look at a team like the isles, who've lost the 7th most man games in the league, but the only player of any consequence who missed time (and it wasn't even that much) was harmonic. they've lost more games than pitt, but look who pitt has been without.

a better example is maybe looking at the players the leafs have had injured this year.........I think the best player on your team who missed more than 5 games was probably carrick. despite losing nearly as many man games as Ottawa, the players you've lost have been completely inconsequential.

In my humble opinion, 4 more is so insignificant it's not worth discussing. Certainly not with the initial invigor.

Andersen is a big loss for sure, but I don't think he would've out performed Condon's performance over said time period.

Methot has missed what, 8 games? Rielly has missed 6, so not a significant difference.

Stone has missed 10. Marner has missed 5. So a handful of games there.

Turris has missed 3 games. Bozak has missed 4, so again not much different.

The man games lost isn't really different for either team. Connor Carrick, one of the Leafs top 4 dmen, has missed 15. But again, not worth complaining about.

The biggest loss for the Sens, is Bobby Ryan. He's been missing all season

Zero depth. The sens top 6 already has some depth plugs in it. You have 1 or 2 injured, and the entire forward core is all depth plugs. Your second pairing is a couple of plugs. And beyond that are guys like you say, Boro, Claessen, etc, who don't belong in the NHL.

The third highest point total of any Canadian team and a club with home ice advantage (for now) over another Canadian team comes in as the least likely to win. That might be shocking to some, but it shouldn’t be: this Senators team has played way over their heads all season and may be the worst team to suit up in the playoffs. This isn’t even an advanced stats based take – they’re legitimately the only team currently in a spot with a negative goal differential. Does a team that gets outscored on the season sound like a playoff team to you? It doesn’t to me. The question is how they got this far while being out-scored and the answer is because they’ve been dominant in close games. That’s not something that tends to be a repeatable skill and there seems to be nothing Ottawa does that looks all that impressive. Whether it’s shots or goals or special teams, the Senators look decidedly average to below average. That’s not to say they don’t have great players. Erik Kalrsson, Mark Stone, Mike Hoffman and Craig Anderson are all terrific, but as a whole it’s hard to see the team as much of a threat compared to the other 15. It’s worked for the Senators so far, but given their results this year and their strength relative to the field, it’s hard to see this as anything other than a short playoffs for Ottawa, though playing in a weak bracket definitely helps their chances.
