Yep its been a rough start for us ,the kiddie corp defense has been exposed badly .Hopefully it will get better ,Cowen has started to come around slowly ,but still is no where close to where he needs to be .Gryba and Weircoch have been seriously out matched and need the one thing we are starting to become short on ,which is time

Now they're a kiddie core? I thought they were more established

1 win in the last six games.

"trending in the right direction"

- Feeling Glucky?

Like I said, "trending in the right direction", something you would have NOT been aware of by not watching them play. When I posted my "trending in the right direction" comment I saw, by their play on the ice, that the wins would start to come.

So in their last 4 games since my informed "trending in the right direction" observation, the Senators have taken 8 of a possible 10 points...........and are now in possession of a Wild-card playoff spot.

Once again I've shown that I know what I've been talking about.........and you're showing yourself to be foolish.

There's nowhere to go but down statistically for the Sens goaltending.

NEW YORK – Ottawa Senators goaltender Robin Lehner, Anaheim Ducks goaltender Frederik Andersen and Chicago Blackhawks left wing Patrick Sharp have been named the NHL's "Three Stars" for the week ending Nov. 10.

FIRST STAR – ROBIN LEHNER, G, OTTAWA SENATORS

Lehner posted a 3-0-0 record with a 1.33 goals-against average and .958 save percentage, stopping 91 of 95 shots to help the Senators win all three of their games and extend their season-long point streak to five contests (3-0-2). He made 32 saves in a 4-1 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets Nov. 5, 33 stops in a 4-1 win over the Montreal Canadiens Nov. 7 and 26 saves in a 3-2 triumph over the Florida Panthers Nov. 9. With the trio of victories, Lehner tied the longest winning streak of his four-season NHL career (Oct. 30, 2011-Feb. 28, 2012). The 22-year-old native of Gothenburg, Sweden, has allowed two or fewer goals in six of his eight appearances this season, compiling a 3-2-2 record with a 2.13 goals-against average and .945 save percentage.

In fairness, Ottawa's team save % is worse than last year despite Lehner playing fantastic.

Anderson has regressed a heck of a lot as I predicted.906 SV% on the year.

But we'll see. Lehner is doing better than I ever thought right now.

Those of us who've been following Lehner's progress in the organization have known for a while that he's going to be a good if not great goaltender. He's done just about everything he can at the AHL level and is now in his first full season at the NHL Level.

I also expect him to easily make the Swedish National team for the Olympics.

I'm not the one jizzing my pants. But since YOU brought it up, check his numbers outside of the wins column. Especially over the past 2 weeks. The team in front of him is playing like poop, not Price.

And Andrew, you numbnuts keep bumping this poop into my threads with the most asinine arguments. Responding to one of them with a fact isn't trolling.

It makes me laugh that there were moron Sens fans at the beginning of the year chirping that the Leafs were only winning games because they had an easy schedule. In the last ten games, the Sens have played the Islanders, Columbus TWICE, Philly TWICE, Dallas, Florida, Montreal, Boston, Minnesota. That's seven games against non-playoff teams, and one borderline playoff team. That's a phenomenally easy stretch. And then you get crap from these half-wits like "they're trending up". Bahahahahahaha. They managed just 4 wins out of those 10 games.

Blah blah blah, the Leafs are just lucky, their shooting % is so high. Ummm, duh, you give me Kessel, JVR, Lupul, Clarkson, Kadri, and give them 5 shots each, put them up against Spezza, Turris, Ryan, Michalek, Macarthur (LOL), and give them 10 shots each, and I take the Leafs group every time.

What a joke. The Sens are such a horsecrap team. After years of chirping about the Kessel trade, they give away a young top 6 roster player, a decent prospect, and a lottery pick, for a lesser player. And not only that, but just two years of that lesser player.

We might as well close this thread. The Sens have a junk roster, they gutted their prospects for player going to UFA in a year and a half, and threw away a VERY high pick. The Leafs are doing well, still have their first round pick, younger, etc. Not to mention the Sens can't even afford to ice a competitive team if they could get the players.

Easy choice. The Sens are irrelevant.

I posted this in the pageau thread..but it applies here too

..................
This guy was all the talk a few months ago... I wasnt sure why, a small 4th round pick. spatso talked like he was an elite prospect.

he sees the sens as the golden team, can do no wrong.
he has been pretty quiet.. no surprise since his prediction of an elite team the sens were building is stumbling along now. Anderson is not a .940sv% goalie. the team sv% this season is .913 compared to last season .933. Surprise Surprise...so it doesn't really matter what players you have in the lineup really...its very much about how the goalie is doing it seems. The sens were a depleted team last season but won anyways.

The leafs this season are winning with a .936 sv% ... a tweet by mirtle mentioned the leafs went 7 seasons of .890-.906 goal-tending...which were decent advanced stats teams but still sucked.... now its the opposite.

Sens fans went ballistic with the advanced stats. In part because they liked that it made them look good.

As I say, give the Leafs top 6 five shots each, give the Sens top 6 ten shots each, and I take the Leafs group to score more goals every time. Awesome, CORSI, lots of shots. That's because their junk group of forwards take three or four rebouneds to bury the puck whereas Kessel, Lupul, JVR, bury it the first time.

And their D. It's horrid. One elite offensive Dman who is completely inept in his own zone, a decent defensive guy, and the rest filled it with guys that belong in the AHL.

Yeah, they needed their goaltending to play WAY above their heads to win games last year. And it still just barely got them a playoff spot.
