I think it's because people focus too much on counting stats and assume if a guy is big, he'll be a good defensive player.
- PhillySportsGuy

I'm conditioned to assume the worst when it comes to hockey at all times.

1. Not that hard to believe......for every 1 guy you have at the pointy end there are several people supporting in the background. You also have all the officers. It's like any company really.

2. I think you'd be very surprised how many people in the military have degrees. Buy my original point was that there are a poop load of brilliant people in the military

- sensarmy_11

I work with several career military people (recently retired). Nobody better trained and more dedicated. Canadian military is good people.

We were off the coast of Scotland doing a missile shoot last year. The goal was to simulate shooting ballistic missiles out of the sky.........we were with 5 other navies, including 2 arleigh Burke destroyers from the US. We were the only country to successfully shoot down the "test missles". Not only were we the only ones to shoot anything down, we shot 4 of our missles, and all 4 connected.

We might not have the 5 billion dollar aircraft carriers, and 2 billion dollar destroyers, but the ships we do have are very very capable.

From the moment the Flyers rushed to the podium to take him, I have been confident he'd be a 1D for a long time. He's just so god damn good. His numbers get bogged down because he plays with MacDonald every game, but away from MacDonald, his numbers are great. He played 27 minutes last night in their 4-0 win over the Pens.

Provorov is the real deal. Will be one of the top 5 Dmen in NHL. Never trade a #1 Dman unless your getting a franchise player back.

Leafs come back in a huge way after the loss to the Panthers. Rielly has a huge game. Beat a team they needed to beat and are back in a playoff spot.

Sens anemic offence has no answer for Chicago's backup.

Laine didn't get a point.

Sens fans won't have much to cheer about tomorrow.

Ottawa outplayed Chicago missing their top forward and with their back up. And darling must be one hell of a backup....1st in the league in sv%, 3rd in gaa, and like 20 wins. He's better than your starter.

I'm happy, Ottawa has showed consistently that they can play with and beat the top teams in the league.....and usually when they have 2-3 key pieces out of their lineup. When healthy Ottawa will compete with any team in the league......I know that you know that, but I know you'll also never admit it on here given the nature of this thread. Ottawa is .500 or better against every playoff team in the east.

They have young guys like white and chabot ready to replace older or useless guys like Neil, Kelly, and boro....which will make the team better.

I'm very happy with where Ottawa is

Don't forget, the leaf trolls in this thread always claim that teams are "supposed to beat the teams below them in the standings" .......... The Blackhawks have the 4th best overall record in the NHL, Ottawa the 8th.......... so no big deal with the loss last night, as it's an out of conference game ....... and the three games vs the Habs, over eight days, beginning tomorrow, are way more important to Senator fans.

Last night's games just showed that Ottawa can play with the Best Teams in the League, and hold their own. Ottawa knocks the puck into it's own net last night, they hit a couple of posts, pucks hopping over sticks in front of the Chicago net when their goaltender was down and out ............. a couple of missed calls, a couple of questionable calls, these games happen to all teams .......... could have gone either way ........... but no one in Ottawa is complaining on how the Senators played, Chicago had few more bounces go their way than Ottawa did.

The Backhawks are now the hottest team in the NHL, accumulating 30 points since February the 2nd ........... Ottawa has only 27 points in the same time frame.
