Comments like this really make me wonder about Fans and what they actually know about hockey

I also left out Nylander, Kadri, Rielly, Gardiner... those parts are in place already.

in 2007-08 Kane/Toews were Rookies, there was no Hossa he came later when you start to add those pieces.

Slightly ahead, sure.. but there is no exact model for winning

- senstroll

Sure....but having no D and terrible goaltending is a pretty good model for being awful

Cute, but young teams are going to have games like that. Not really a red flag, just par for the course. Definitely a disappointing result.

Much like if a team that fans think is going to win the cup this year loses to a fringe team missing all of the centers it started the season with.

Grammar police.....a sure indication that you're winning an argument

- sensarmy_11

Dude, I legitimately couldn't figure out what you are trying to say.

It's not grammar police, I generally will not give people a hard time about a missing apostraphe, or whatever. But when someone is so illiterate, I can't understand what they're trying to say, I have to point it out.

Well Dopps, given that there are no cups that are won from October to March 15, three years from either point includes the same set of Stanley Cup champions, doesn't it?

Jeez, I think we're starting to get some serious evidence of a problem with the Ottawa school system.

- prock

Well it's NOT impossible that the leafs could end their NHL l o n g e s t Stanley Cup Finals appearance, this season, by making the playoffs, and their superstar guaranteed rookies go nuts, and beat the Capitals, and then go on to win the Cup this season ............ unless they've already been eliminated from making the playoffs....................... did they get eliminated last night?

I just thought you were hedging your bets, as you always do, and in two seasons from now, when it's apparent that the leafs are miles and miles away from contending for a Cup, you would have insisted that the 2016-17 was not included in this prediction you're making today ............ that's par for the course for you.

I think your being overly wienerly. Leafs simply had a bad game and the vulnerability of their roster was badly exposed. These are part of the growing pains of a young team. However, the obvious struggles on the blue line and the regression in Rielly's has become problematic for the Leafs.

The collective sigh of relief by sens fans from a leafs 7-2 loss has knocked me on my ass.

You guys are legitimately poopting your pants about how good the leafs are getting so quickly.

The defense needs to be addressed. Everybody knows this. Look for 2-3 new dmen on the roster next year.

And no spazzo, phanuef is not the answer. The leafs need to add good dmen.

Kadri will be well over 28 years old in two seasons, way to told to help the leafs in the playoffs that season.

Funny, but according to most of the leaf fans here, the leafs are using the only model that will result in a Cup win ........... because they always trash every other team that is not following the shanaplan ......... weird how that it is eh?

If you can look at "nought" and know they mean "enough", in a 5 or 6 word sentence, you must all be fluent in the stupid dialect.

Whatever you say, Pagiroux fan.

But you're very clearly misrepresenting that argument, especially since it was pointed out to you that when Hossa was acquired by the Hawks, they were already further along in the process than the Leafs are.

so your prediction is a leaf Cup win, before the 2019 Lottery Draft.

OK ....... will remind you of that, then......... unless I die shoveling the two feet of snow on my driveway today ......... can't call out the army for snow removal in Ottawa.

28 is in a players prime. That's a great time to be helping with a playoff run.

30 is when you start to hit a player's downside (some say 29). Slowly at that point. 32/33 is when it starts to get into steep decline. At 35/36, if a players is still in the NHL, they're generally a shell of their former selves, and you shouldn't even be counting on them to be in the NHL next year. Statistical averages anyway. Every player is different.

Do you mean only the leafs, or are you including the Sens?

Yes the leafs have surpassed their 69 points mark from last season already, by 7 points, and the Sens have just matched their season total of 85 points last season, with the loser point from last night. So yes it looks like the leafs will increase their season point total by a higher margin than the Sens will .......... but the leafs purposely tanked last season, and gave themselves a lot more room to improve, while the Sens played hard through the playoff stretch last season....... taking 17 points out of their last 14 games.

the Leafs and Sens were within a few points in the standings not long ago.. Leafs stumbled, sens beat some crappy teams to put some separation. youd think they won the (frank)ing cup or something.. the chest beating is something to see

At least we know there is no way this backfires at all ..nope no way
