You guys are funny. Laine still leads all rookies in scoring despite having missed games due to confusion symptoms. Let's see what happens over the rest of the season. Great subject for debate.

My only concussion came playing high school football. Really dizzy and thought I would faint in the shower after practice. Coach took me to hospital where they checked me out. Told me (and my father) that I just had my bell wrung and I would be okay in 48 hours....We have come a long way on concussion since then.

Well you should branch back out. Europe is so opened up these days, and with all the developments like I mentioned, you can do phenomenal things.

Italy is my favourite Euro country to visit. I've done the entire country for the most part, over the course of 2 trips, total about 5 weeks between the two. The friend I'm visiting in London got married in a centuries old villa near Florence (villa Pitiana), that was my first trip. I'll be going back too, as my wife's childhood friend married a man from Bari. And they just moved to another well known Italian destination, can't remember the name. Something a la mer maybe? Houses on the top of a cliff that leads down to the ocean. I love Italy. There is no better place in this world than the Amalfi coast, in my opinion.

There are other countries that are quite cost-efficient. Portugal is cheap as hell. Greece is too these days. Spain is reasonable. I want to go to some of the beaches in Croatia. Somewhat less busy and taken over with tourists, which are often nicer, a better experience, and less expensive all at the same time.

Where did you live?

Father was in the Armed forces, so a couple of places in Germany.

I agree about Italy, I did 2 trips there (rome and tuscanny) when I was stationed in Germany......by far my favorite. the food, women, wine........so incredible.

Czech republic was also incredible, but I went there before they joined the euro union and were still using the Czech crown as their currency.....I brought 200 euro's with me, and when you factored in the exchance it gave me like 4000 crowns which was like the average monthly income. so for 200$ I partied like a (frank)ing rock star for the weekend, it was awesome. ended up at a bar and "met" jaromir jagr there (he owned it)....and by met I mean I shock his hand, told him where I was from, and we did a shot of some crazy ass Czech liquor.........Italy was better, but prague was a close second.

In Lahr, there were numbered "Areas" when Canadians lived ......... Area 31 being the largest ........ But I guess you lived in Geilenkirchen, not Lahr.

yeah, by the time I got over there (2004) Lahr was pretty much shut down. the only Canadian presence we have (that's more than just 1 or 2 people) in Germany now is in Geilenkirchen

There are some really good life experiences someone can have, living for a a few years or more in Europe. It really does give you a different perspective on a lot of things. I lived there almost 10 years, and would recommend to anyone who had the opportunity, to take advantage of it. I was younger then, so perhaps it was easier than it would be today, taking into consideration a spouse or children, but I believe I'm richer for the experience .......... having seem and done things a lot of Canadians did not have the chance to do.

I've been back to München , twice for the Oktoberfest, and would go again if the opportunity presented itself .............. great area of Germany to visit and tour.

There were eleven NATO Bases, where Canadains served, in Northern Germany at one time, including BMH Iserlohn ........... but pretty sure there are very few Canadian Armed forces personnel in the area at this time ........ other than what sensarmy_11 was talking about.

hard to say, Iserlohn is older more experienced and probably better right now........neiderheid is younger, better prospects, plus there's a brothel right outside the gate
