there were only two posts between yours, and the top of the page ......... neither had the words that you're trying to claim I said ................ so either quote the post, or admit you're mistaken

I guess one win really is all it takes to make you ignore reality.

It's almost like sens fans are a bunch of bandwagoners or something.

Okay, so I guess that means you're happy with the leaf losing in a shoot out.
- D0PPELGANGER

You did seem to have a pretty big problem with OT wins when it was the Leafs putting them up.

the leafs are a rebuilding team that fans of other teams said would be a 30th place team. their crop of rookies and young players are exceeding expectations. I'm very happy with what are KIDS are doing as its an amazing sign of things to come.

the sens are not the second youngest team in the league they are one of the very oldest. they have no developing youth accomplishing anything of note. there is no sign of better things to come. and with a super easy schedule to date they're onlyb3 points ahead in the standings right now.

I would very shocked if you could find one fan in the entire world, of the other 28 teams, that would rather be in the sens situation right now. of the millions and millions of hockey fans out there, I'm guessing 100% of them would rather be the leafs. no exaggeration. 100%.

nice try................ but it was loser points (single points in OT/SO loss) that I was pointing out back then, how in the world would there ever be something negative about winning and getting two points out of a game?

You're continuous attempts to attribute comments that I did not make , to me has failed again ............ my memory is not that bad yet.

Now where did I read that before ????? Oh yeah, a number of pages back, and over 2 months ago

September 20 @ 9:06 AM ET (page 399)

I agree neither team, based on last years play on the ice, should not make the playoffs.

The leafs are going to have a lot of rookies in their line up this season, and could help the team exceed expectations.

- D0PPELGANGER

All kidding aside, but we agree on more things (about the leafs) than you'd like to think. Not saying I "called it" but with a number of high picks in the leafs line up, getting their first shot at a regular shift in the NHL, the rookies are doing well over most people's expectations, and that's good for leaf fans, in the long run, if they continue to improve.

I see no need to continually compare the two teams (in Ontario) based on future predictions that neither fan base can prove to be accurate. leaf fans will always say their team will be better than the Senators, at some point in the future, and Senator fans will continue to point to the standings of the current season.

The Senators had 23 points after 19 games last season, and also this season (after 19 games).

So as a Senator fan, I take into consideration the new system brought in with the new coaching staff, a few new players moved in (and out) of the roster , and see improvements in some areas of their game over last season, and still see the need for improvement in other areas over last season.......... and will expect to see an improvement in the standings, compared to last season, before the end of 2016.

As a leaf fan, you should be happy, and it appears the team has turned the corner from being a cellar dweller, and should improve on last seasons final overall position in the standing.

It wasn't a groundbreaking prediction to most Leaf fans. The writing was on the wall. The points they had was the best last place finish in many years. They had a lot of indicators that were much more positive than their results showed. They lost a lot of 1 goal games (so yes, they were in most games - remember, I said I'd rather lose by won than many?). Toss in a few top notch rookies.

It really wasn't tough to see they weren't going to be 30th place like many tried to predict.

As I said before the season, the Sens and Leafs are pretty close right now. I'd give the edge to the Leafs. I think as the season wears on, that will prove to be true. I think over the next couple of months, the Leafs will take a decent lead in the standings over the Sens. But, as there are a fair number of rookies, who traditionally aren't used to the rigour of an NHL season yet, they'll slow down, in the stretch run. Good chance the Sens hit some injuries, like usual, and their lack of depth is exposed in the second half of the season. They'll probably end somewhere int he same territory this year, and then the Sens will get blown away next year.

Funny you've spent years comparing the two (what was that thread - Sens measure up well in province, but not division), but you think we shouldn't bother anymore.

I have not had much chance to watch games as I have been very busy with work.

I did get to watch the Leafs and Devils last night. I thought Matthews played a wonderful game. First time I have watched him play since the opening night game.

Leaf defence looks a little wobbly.

Very solid game by the Sens. The Turris goal on the feed from Bobby Ryan was highly skilled.

Jarod Crozier is starting to make fun of the light weights that pump on the idea that Karlsson does not play strong D. From his blog

"Anyone who still hangs onto the "Erik Karlsson can't play defense" adage is simply living in a dream world and has not watched him play over the last couple of seasons. He played almost the entire final two minutes in his own end (albeit his icing the puck resulted in the inability to change and thus the extended Bruins' pressure), and blocked at least two shots in that stretch, bringing his game total to eight, and putting him well into first place in the league in that category."

to fly into montreal, when you factor in getting to the airport in Ottawa, waiting for the flight, landing in Dorval (or whatever the airport is called now) which is like an hour away from downtown.......that's like a 4 hour trip. the train takes 2 hours and drops you off right next to the rink. Ottawa has been taking the train to montreal games LONG before melnyk was the owner......pretty sure the habs also take the train to games in ottawa

are you referring to the end of the game, when the bruins had their goalie pulled and had an extra attacker.

if so, and I'm assuing that's the case, you're (frank)ing retarded. did you expect him to set up in the offensive zone being down a man. the ENTIRE point of pulling your goalie is to get an extra player so you can, you know, control the puck.

I think that fact that he played a 2 minute shift, down a man, and the bruins didn't get a scoring chance or even a shot on goal I believe is a testament to how good he is.
