Zibanejad is turning into a pretty good faceoff man too. Brassard struggles there.

Yea but who cares about points and face offs and 2nd round picks. Is he left or right handed! ?

It does not surprise me that you're not familiar with Points Percentage stats, as your much more concerned with the financials of NHL teams, than how many games they win, and the points they accrue.

How do you rank the NHL standings in your world???

Also if you don't know the difference between a left handed Center passing to a right handed Right Winger and a Right handed Center passing to a right handed Right Winger, then you're clearly incapable of logical thought.

Let me make easy for you, so that you can look for it the next time you watch a game .............. one of them passes to the Right Winger on the forehand, and the other on the backhand.

If there is further explanation required let me know.

There is also a big difference on how the PP unit works as well, but from what I can tell, that's way over your head, so I will not attempt to explain it you.

It doesn't surprise me much that you are using points percentage after 7 games. Going into the game last night the Leafs were 1 point behind the Sens, same games.

The team that enjoyed easily the worst goaltending, and lost 4,3rd period leads was one point behind the team that has playoff aspirations.

and you have none of Nylander Matthews or Marner, not close.

but you do have Phaneuf

Maybe this will help, it's written at a reading level even you should be able to comprehend.

The Sens traded a high pick and a better younger player for an older player. Just so he can pass to Ryan. But they're not building around Ryan.

Woah Woah. Hold on a minute.

Absolutely the Brassard trade was brutal and a no brainer for the Rags but that Phaneuf trade...... that's a whole new level of stupid.

Not one other GM would ever make that trade for Dion. It was absolutely mindblowing. It is completely unjustifiable.

The great thing about it is seeing Sens fans proclaim they've always been a fan of Dion and were upset how he was miscast in Toronto.

Phaneuf through 7 games
has 1 pt.,
is -7
Has a Corsi For of 42.4 (horrible)
Is last on then team in Corsi For 60, relative to the team

But yeah, we'll go with the narrative that he is a solid second pairing guy that the Sens got for nothing.

Both trades will haunt them now and down the road. These moves are so Leafish of regimes past.

How shallow are you? The Ottawa Senators got rid of three players (and their contracts) and received a player (Phaneauf) in return that is taking a regular shift in every game this season, taking the place of a DMan that sat in the press-box for 45 games last season......... while the three players they sent to toronto are no longer playing in the NHL.

The leafs got rid of a contract they no longer wanted on their books. Seems to me both teams relived themselves of player they no longer wanted ......... with Ottawa ending up with the only one still playing in the NHL ............. regardless of how well, or not, he's playing.

To some leaf fans, this is the "deal of the Century" because they received a 2nd round pick, somewhere in the 40th to 45th overall range at best.

Habs fans can be so idiotic. Itso like they somehow think they've been perennial stanley cup Champs. It's more than a couple of decades since they've won one, and probably won't anytime soon either .

So was his contract "an anchor of an unmovable contract " when he played for the leafs ?

Is having Dion play a regular shift better than having Cowen paid to sit in the press box?

How hard is it for some leaf fans to see that both team basically got what they wanted, contracts and players, no longer figuring into their future plans, moved off their respective rosters.

Ottawa had been looking for a DMan to play a regular shift on their second pairing for sometime, as Cowen, as a result of two terrible injuries, could no longer play a regular shift ........... and no matter how you rate Dion's level of play, it's better than how Cowen was playing............ and I suspect he will never play in the NHL again.

I was never a fan of Phaneauf, and would have preferred another veteran D Man been acquired ........ but the trade market is what it is, and he became the best option out there at the time.

You really are rattled. A rattled (frank)ing idiot.

The Sens ended up with a burden. The Leafs ended up with a pick a prospect and cap control. This really is simple.

Hey guys. I'm not running a playoff team but I desperately need a dman to help me miss the playoffs all fancy style. I can't find a good one so I found a crappy one with a crappy contract. I mean a poop trade is better than no trade at all right? Seriously you guys are having a hard time understanding this. You cant miss the playoffs without an over paid under performing player.

Oh and since we're not building our team around an over paid under performing player we gave up picks and prospects for from a duck pond in cali, I'll trade more youth and pics for an inferior older player so he can play with him! Left right!

Why is this so hard to understand?
