When Binghamton had a great team Sens fans could not shut-up about it

They did win the Calder Cup, so I guess we should have not mentioned it.

There is no answer to such a Moronic question.

Why'd you change from 4pts back with 2 games in hand to tied with 2 games in hand?

Both scenarios can occur, and are magnified the closer you get tot he end of the season.

Last season the Sens (92) trailed the Bruins (95) on April the 4th.

The Sens had a game in hand on them, and managed to pass the Bruins in part because they had four games/chances to gain points while the Bruins only had three.

IF the schedule had both teams sitting with an equal number of games remaining (four) perhaps things would have not turned out the way they did.

Having one more game to play than the team you're chasing, in the last week of the season, before the end of the schedule, improves your teams' odds of tying or passing them.

Ottawa made the playoffs because they got 4 points in their last 2 games while Boston got 1. It's that simple.

It's also about how the schedule unfolds at the end of the season my friend.

So the team with a game in hand is in better position than the team 3 points up. Gotcha!

I await your post ignoring my point and simply pointing out who made the playoffs

top 10 NHL prospect pools in the Winter edition of the 2015-16 NHL Team Rankings

http://www.hockeysfuture....antic-division-influence/

10. Anaheim Ducks (3)
9. Detroit Red Wings (4)
8. New York Islanders (2)
7. Edmonton Oilers
6. Tampa Bay Lightning (7)
5. Boston Bruins (21)
4. Toronto Maple Leafs (20)
3. Buffalo Sabres (6)
2. Winnipeg Jets (1)
1. Arizona Coyotes (5)

Strengths: It’s almost surreal to see the Toronto Maple Leafs with not one, but two elite prospects. Yet that is what Toronto has in both William Nylander and Mitch Marner. Both players were drafted as centers, but it is unlikely they both play the position with the Maple Leafs. The players highlight an emphasis on skill above all else, as do the majority of the 2015 draft picks. Frederik Gauthier, a pick from the previous regime, is acclimating himself better than expected in his first AHL season and could become the ideal bottom-six center for the Maple Leafs.

Weaknesses: Goaltending. Both Antoine Bibeau and Garret Sparks, the organization’s only two goaltending prospects, have already worn the Maple Leafs jersey, but not because they were ready. During that time, Sparks proved he could carve out a NHL career, but his weaknesses are noticeable—his timing and ability to track the puck leave a lot to be desired. Bibeau, meanwhile, is having a down year after a strong rookie season in the AHL. The Maple Leafs will almost certainly select at least one goaltender in the 2016 NHL Draft.

Top 5 Prospects: 1. Mitch Marner, C; 2. William Nylander, C; 3. Kasperi Kapanen, RW; 4. Scott Harrington, D; 5. Connor Brown, RW
Key Additions: Mitch Marner (Draft), Kasperi Kapanen (Trade – PIT), Scott Harrington (Trade – PIT), Travis Dermott (Draft), Jeremy Bracco (Draft), Zach Hyman (Trade – FLA), Nikita Shoshnikov (Free agent)
Key Losses: Carter Verhaeghe (Trade – NYI), Matt Finn (Trade – NYI)

Its also worth noting that the 3 teams ahead of the leafs have multiple players already in the NHL. All of the leafs prospects are still in the minors

By next year when they add a top 5pick along with all the other pics they have(Hopefully Pittburgh makes it) they will be consensus #1.

If any of the teams ahead of them on that list win the lottery the Leafs will at best be #2 on that list next season. It's all meaningless but that's basically how it works.

Yeah but that website consistently overrates whatever team gets the first pick.

Or at least that what it seems like.

I haven't been paying attention lately... but why the (frank) did montreal trade Tinordi for Scott?

Even if you don't think Tinordi is much better than a Schenn/Cowen type player... that's still awful value.

Tinordi is nothing more than Ryan O'byrne.

Also, Scott was a throw in. They got Victor Bartley in that trade.

But yeah, all in all, it,S a pretty underwhelming move, even if Tinordi proves to me a massive bust.

According to Dopps, it's proof positive the leafs are in a better position. Unless of course the logic has changed, now that it doesn't support his side.

I'd be tempted to take the Marlies' roster over the Leafs', if not for Rielly.
