Just wondering what you think might be happening, or what you think they should do.

Ride out the season, and wait for the draft to do anything?

Do what? There is nothing they can do with clarkson he's here for 5more horrendous years.

He has a full nmc. He cannot be put on waivers. His contract is structured in such a way it's nearly impossible to buyout. Were stuck.

And with the sinking Canadian dollar it's hard to imagine the cap increasing too much the next season or two.

good info here

http://www.pensionplanpup...pologist-assistant-to-the

It's not like Pridham doesn't have a low bar to leap over for success. Claude Loiselle was incompetent in his job: his work on the buyout proof David Clarkson deal is a good example although let's not forget the terrible John-Michael Liles deal or the ridiculous reasoning for not taking Bolland's injury into account or the Tim Gleason buyout that shouldn't have been are all big markers suggesting Loiselle was awful at his job

sounds a bit more qualified than Loiselle

Pridham began his career at the NHL in 1999 as a coordinator in NHL Central Scouting. Over the past fifteen years at the League, Pridham has served in a number of capacities in the Central Scouting and Central Registry departments with duties that included serving as the contact person for NHL General Managers, Assistant General Managers and NHL Executives on issues involving the CBA, salary cap and NHL Central Scouting department.

Ok, January 30th 2014. Leafs allow a short-handed goal 5 seconds into the third period. From the red line. Not to be so badly outdone, Sens allow TWO short-handed goals in the last minute of the third. Into the empty net from the offensive zone.

Race you to the bottom, boys!

The Stars practise shooting into the empty net from their defensive zone at the end of every practise.

both sad, but having an empty net goal (or two) scored against you is not nearly in the same realm of awful as the goal that bernier gave up.

end result is the same, but that was EASILY the worst goal given up by any goalie this year.

Bernier, as a 26 year old, just played 55 games posting a .923 sv%. That's a .923 sv% playing enough games to be considered a starter for the full year.

You can project all you like, that's something Craig Anderson has never managed to do.

Project all you want, Bernier is a better goalie, and a more proven starter, at 26, than Craig Anderson is at 33.

Craig Anderson sitting sixth in the NHL among the Sv% Leaders at .927
Jonathan Bernier sitting twenty-first in the NHL among the Sv% Leaders at .915

Craig Anderson sitting eighteenth in the NHL among the GAA Leaders at 2.37
Jonathan Bernier sitting thirtieth in the NHL among the Sv% Leaders at 2.71

Lets see who (if anyone) the Sens ship out prior to the deadline, perhaps the Sens can close that gap.

The only UFAs the Sens have are Methot and Condra... don't see them being too active.

Leafs are probably going to be moving out Santorelli, Winnik, and Franson, but also have Booth, Smith, and Holzer as UFAs.

Obviously UFAs aren't the only ones that are going to get moved, but they are the most likely targets. Apparently teams have interest in Lupul, and I'm sure guys like Legwand, Neil and Phillips will get some interest, but longer contracts usually don't go until the off-season.

Or next year when they're pending UFAs.

If they cannot re-sign Methot, he'll be dealt, Condra I'm not so sure as his stock has risen within the roster, but if they get a decent offer he could be gone too.

having pageau makes condra completely expendable.....they're essentially the same player IMO

Yeah, I agree, and will not be surprised to see him go to a contender who wants a PK specialist. Lazar can pretty much slip into the JGP role with Condra gone and JGP moving up into Condras' vacated role if shipped out.

But we're talking about this year's dive for five. They may be targets for teams this year, despite their contracts not ending now.

I think the Leafs have more guys they can dump, and they might get some decent picks out of it, too. 2nds for Santo and Winnik, and a 1st for Franson all seem like they could happen. Given how Franson looks on paper, they might even get more.

Franson might fetch a late first. I'd be shocked if The other two fetched higher than a 4th or mid tier prospect each.

depending on if there's a bidding war or not i could see santo fetch a late 2nd max. a 3rd is more likely but you never know. he'd be a decent player for a contender that needed depth.

You know, I thought Winnik had more points than he does... but both are hard-working blue collar players that teams love in the playoffs, and Santorelli is at half a point per game, and both have pretty good advanced stats.

I think the Leafs already turned down a 4th from Pittsburgh for Winnik, so I expect them to get more than that for him... and I expect them to get more for Santo than Winnik.

Either could get a prospect though, and it's hard to figure where prospects rank in terms of picks.
