Dorothy Saladna Vislosky

Dorothy Saladna Vislosky, passed away in Bridgeport, Conn., with her family, Monday, Nov. 10, 2014, after a long term battle with cardiac disease. Dorothy was born in Millsboro, Pa., (Washington County) on January 9, 1930, one of eight children born to John G. and Mary V. Lengvarsky Saladna.

A dedicated public servant, Dorothy loved Falls Township and dedicated her life to helping its citizens serving as a 'People's Advocate' for fifty years. But Dorothy's favorite name was 'Grandma' to her two grandsons, Bobby and John Michael. Dorothy became politically active as a housewife when she fought to protect Lake Caroline Park in the 1960s. Although a registered Democrat, Dorothy never belonged to any political club. In fact, her Vislosky newsletters highlighted both Republicans and Democrats alike. Dorothy was elected as a Pennsbury School Director in 1971. She was elected Falls Township Supervisor in 1973 and 2005. Dorothy then served two terms as District Justice for Bucks County beginning in 1981. In 1994, she was appointed as a Pennsylvania Senior Justice. In 2011, Dorothy officially retired to write her books regarding her career and life philosophy.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Frank, John and Reverend George Saladna; three sisters, Ann Saladna, Loretta DuChez, and Barbara Nicklos; and two children, John and Jill Vislosky, who died as infants. Surviving is one sister, Matilda Phillips of Holiday, Fla.; her daughter, Judge Jan Duffy, her husband, Bob, and son, Bobby of Fairless Hills; her son, John Vislosky IV and his wife, Betty Rodriguez of Bethesda, Md.; and her grandson, John Michael Vislosky with his mother, Michelle Vislosky, and her fiancé, Lance Obra.

Friends will be received from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 23, at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Rd, Levittown, PA 19056. Prayer service followed by remembrances of Dorothy will be conducted from 4 to 5 p.m. A second visitation will be held from 8:40 to 9:20 a.m. Nov. 24, followed by 9:30 a.m. Mass at St. Frances Cabrini, 325 S. Oxford Valley Road, Fairless Hills, PA 19030. Burial will be at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Morrisville.

I used the guest bathroom (which is like public at the compound) uncoiled 2 foot longs that left residue on the sides and required multiple flushes to cleanse the porcelain
