Obscured By Clouds is terribly underrated, being overshadowed by their next two albums. Along with Meddle you can hear their evolution towards the DSotM sound.

watch this vid.

it's so funny to see roger and dave getting along over the foosball table like that. laughing together and all. after all the bitterness you kind of forget that it was ever like that. i do hope they really make up before they die (i know they sort of have, but you can tell there's still resentment and discomfort when they're around one another).

i went to see roger do the wall a few years ago because it was promised that david was showing up to one show on the tour, they just wouldn't tell you which one. you knew damn well it wouldn't be one of the american shows but you still hoped against hope.

Yeah it'd be nice for them to be more chummy and collaborative again. But in my mind, without Rick, there can really be no more new music from Pink Floyd (unless there's unreleased stuff that they can polish-off). Or, at least, it just won't be the same. However, I do enjoy Animals, The Wall, and even The Final Cut (no writing credits on the first two, and gone from the band for the last). But for my tastes, the heyday was from Meddle to WYWH and there's not going to be anything more like that.

Oh it's great. But it's so depressing in it's angry tone that I have to be in the proper mind space to listen to it. But when I am, and I can, it's so cathartic. And the whole album has to be heard from start to finish. Now it's the 2004 version where When the Tigers Broke Free is included between One of the Few and The Hero's Return.

I guess Roger had a lot of pent-up anger back in those days. I guess it was very cathartic for him to make it.
