i'm going to do my best to answer your question honestly because i'm drunk and i have time.

IMeversohumbleO, bush sounded like a band that latched onto what was the popular sound at the time and played that kind of music. it's smart - i'm not saying it isn't. alice in chains were trying to be a metal band or something until they they saw what was happening and changed course and that turned out fine. but for every band that tried to be something they really weren't and turned out to be alice in chains there were 100 bands that turned out to be candlebox. and bush is somewhere between the two for me personally and actually much closer to candlebox.

i will however give them credit for writing really catchy popish songs with good hooks.
