I was at that indie music festival in north of Quebec (FME in Rouyn-Noranda) and they were the biggest headline that year. Missed the opportunity to buy tickets. They were playing at that former church/new venue. It was a hot summer and all the church windows were open. They start making sound tests and for some unknown reason I'm just drowned to the church, enter the door, then BANG, the door is shut by an security employee and he locks it up. It's so dark inside he never saw me enter. I realize I'm alone with the band, the sound man and the projectionist. I quietly go through the chairs and sit on the floor between chair rows so nobody can find me. The band starts a super long song, then another long one. It's powerful and beautiful and lound. After these 2 songs, the singer says "Ok Mike that's the (frank)ing loudest we ever played" The sound man says "lol yeah but it's great". I stay there for a whole 45 minutes before I go back to the door. The security guy says "WTF are you doing in here? (frank)!! Nobody should be here!" He opens up and I leave with a big smile on my face.

Saw the band live in Montreal 1 year later and it was zzzzzzzz. The bar was probably set too high after that private show lol

damn, that's pretty cool. i think they're kind of a band you sit and listen to alone anyway so that by itself would make it better than in a regular concert setting probably

used to email back and forth with this guy when he was on a record label owned by a buddy of mine.

he eventually went all country or something but his solo stuff is great and his first band (best kissers in the world) was awesome.
