and yes same band, sloan has been around forever

all the band members wrote and sang their own stuff and you can really tell a chris song from a patrick song etc

the doughboys are a generic 90s canadian rock band but this was played on the radio so much one summer that i instantly remember everything from that summer when i hear it which is cool

Doughboys are actually a really good shoegaze-y punk-pop band. One of the guitarists (Johnson Cummins) has formed a couple of good punk bands since, his best being Bionic

Doughboys are actually a really good shoegaze-y punk-pop band. One of the guitarists (Johnson Cummins) has formed a couple of good punk bands since, his best being Bionic

Not the most accessible music style but metal has an incredible canadian trailblazer in Voivod. The boys from Jonquière, Québec have influenced so many metal acts with their slightly dissonant trashmetal which evolved into more progressive territories.

Not just one of the best canadian bands ever, but one of the most respected metal bands of all-time

i shouldn't go full daeth but godspeed you black emperor and silver mt zion are two of my fav canadian bands. that kind of music is certainly not for everyone though
