I could probably listen to Rent all day... It's a real shame the Jonathon Larson died young with maybe more greats in his head... But maybe he went out on top and otherwise wouldn't have. Sad circumstance though that he never saw what became of his work, dying directly before it's Off Broadway opening.


BTW: Billy Joel was one of his main idols... I wasn't aware until AFTER I learned to love his work. The DVD Bonus Features has a great documentary on Larson... long but well worth the time to watch it all.

IMO the movie is great... You should love it even when compared to the show. It was done well and lost nothing in the transition... Some changes had to be made, but little was lost, and the cast was tremendous... many of course being from the original -- their advanced ages didn't make a difference -- Rent *Rent*, or better yet purchase the DVD to have to watch over and over... you will not be disappointed... trust me.

To clear the record... If you notice, I posted ABBA's *Dancing Queen* directly after the other *Queen (something)* song by Queen. I was playing off that title with *Dancing Queen*... While that song is not too bad, I am not an ABBA fan and when drug to *Mamma Mia* was in Hell, since the show, IMO, sucked -- it didn't even have *Fernando* in it


... That said... Rent is a GREAT Broadway show with great music... Real secure men can like, and admit to liking, certain Broadway shows. I admit to liking *Rent* a lot, as I do *Jesus Christ, Superstar* ... Ya gotta problem wit dat?

HEY... I didn't recognize the name, but yes, I'm familiar with the 'original' version of Baker Street... and I like it.

The name Rafferty is very familiar also... I get a feeling that I had a senior moment here, and I'm more 'with' these songs than I had thought.
