[quote=davies]don't get bummed out by all the wild hippies at the Glastonbury Fayre...
make it through to when Terry starts singing. Best voice of his time (well, maybe tied with Steve Marriott).

I thought the Raconteurs did a good job with this Terry cover

well, trying to cover a song like that certainly separates the wheat from the chaff as far as vocal ability...
but at least they have good taste!

That guy in the tacky clothes at the very beginning... I remember him from a North Jersey (IIRC) based show a couple decades back... He had odd buddies, and I believe puppets. He was Uncle 'so and so', I think... do you recall his name?

I'm going to have to refresh my memory with Watson's cited Uncle Floyd URL... But I remember him as being an outright adult Soupy Sales type show -- Soupy masked his show as being for kids... but we all knew better.

Uncle Floyd, as I recall, had the 'groups of the day'... I'd say that if he could get a punk band and it would make for good entertainment, he'd have them on.

I have to get my old brain up to snuff and remember more of the details... At this point I mostly remember that he was a cult type talent who I liked to watch, and I'm really lucky that I remembered the 'Uncle' part of his name.

It appears that he did... Here is Dee Dee Ramone... after a little skit by one of Uncle Floyd's Puppets:
