it's not even close.

brian's version bangs around more and might be a little louder or whatever but bon's songs were better.

also, if bon was alive he could sing brian's songs (as on-the-surface and one dimensional as most of them are) but brian has shown a million times that he can't sing bon's songs.

either way, angus makes the band. *horns up*

Yea but Bon was a drunk and on the path to jail so band
Wouldn't have grown into what they became with him still alive.

i'm glad you quoted that because i just deleted the post by accident.

also, it doesn't matter if he was a drunk. stormey's a drunk but his posts are still better than yours. know what i mean?

we're just comparing the two singers not writing an episode of behind the music.

i'm not saying i turn off brian's songs. but bon's have a lot more depth and feeling if an ac/dc song can even have depth or feeling.

they were just better songs and the lyrics actually seemed to go somewhere and tell a story.

she sends out an aroma of undefined love
it drips on down in a mist from above

I am starting to sense your location
You are somewhere in the attic
Looking something close to tragic
Knitting T-shirts and your mattress
I'm floating up the stairwell
With my toes grazing the cedar
Thinking softly what a tinder box we live in
And what a flammable heart I've been given

i was never a big fan of stone temple pilots. in fact i remember hating them when they first came out because they seemed like they were just trying to imitate the sound that was making money at the time. but i guess i couldn't deny they were good musicians (especially the brothers deleo) and that weiland could sing and was fun to watch implode over and over again. so they were just there. one of those bands. you don't buy their music but when it's on the radio it's on the radio and that's STP.

now they decided to recruit the singer from one of the worst bands on the planet to put their band back together after killing weiland.

they are playing 2 singles on the radio right now from what appears to be a 5 song EP. i admit that the 2 singles are catchy and the hooks work just like they are supposed to. not great songs but better than i expected. missing something for sure. so for some reason i decided to listen to all 5 songs on the youtube and let me tell you, the other 3 songs are basically unlistenable. so so terrible.

i knew it was going to be a bad experience listening to the whole thing. i just knew it. but i felt like i owed this to my people. you, the people of the song of the day thread.

don't make the same mistake i did, people of the song of the day thread.

i defy anyone to make it through any of those other 3 songs. (frank) STP, (frank) linkin park, and (frank) chester faggington.
