remember reading something that had intimate details on backgrounds of all the beatles songs like where and why it was written, the recording process, etc. pretty sure all it said for savoy truffle was something along the lines of:

this is a song george harrison wrote for his friend eric clapton and his fondness for chocolates.

one of my fave tidbits was when they recorded the please please me album (11 songs in 10 hours LOL). george martin said he saved twist and shout for last because john was sick and knew the vocals on that one would kill his throat. he did it in one take and said his voice wasn't the same for quite a while. one of my fave vocal performances.
