I don't see the Leafs getting into that potential circus.
And, I don't think any of the players would want to sign in Toronto given the media scrutiny. Better to find a quiet job in the south where attention will be minimal. |

And Jays talk ...
I'm not sure I'd pay the price to add a starter. Add a pair of dominant RP's. Gausman, Lauer, Berrios and Bassitt are all going to start in the playoffs and can run through the order twice. Need to lock down innings 6-9 to get to the Hoff.
Maybe an OF/DH type bat ..but I think that depends on what they know/expect from Varsho and Santander. |

pretty much agree.
another name I saw mentioned (to the Jays), is Joe Ryan. which would be massive.
but def RP is the most pressing.
i havent seen anything on Santander, timeline or whats up with him. Would be nice to add his 30+ hr bat..that they were expecting |

Santander is weeks away from starting batting again, probably will not play this season at all.
Have the tickets for game vs Cubs on August 13th, hopefully will be a good one. |

Pay the price if he comes with term and control.
But yes, go after dominant rp and a bat. E Suarez comes to mind. Him and Barger can rotate between 3rd and dh. |

what they need to go out and get is a couple of wipe out relief pitchers. A righty and a lefty if possible. Give JS a trio of closers to use for the 7,8,9 innings in any order needed. They don't need a bat and the probably don't need a starter, although I would take one who is not a rental. |

The Leafs should look into signing Carter Hart for a 2 year, $1M-AAV. This would allow them to shop Stolarz, who's looking to cash in a year from now. I'm sure the Oilers or another suitor would be interested in Stolarz. The Leafs could ask for a top prospect or a first rounder for the opportunity to enhance their future. Stolarz' low cap hit, for this year, would be attractive. Sometimes, you just have to bite the bullet and make a move like that. Woll is the number 1 going forward in to the future. |

I would bet against Carter Hart ever being a solid goaltender ever again. Goalies are already voodoo without the specter of the past clouding his game. |

Jays hold onto their lead tonight and they stand alone at the top of the MLB.
Fun fact: the Jays have never finished a season with the best record in baseball. |

Definitely hard pass. Dont need the headache it would bring and not a gain really at all. |

Dear EK,
Please turn on filtered trade notifications so I can see when our laffs get poone jenner and, ergo, we get the cup👍
2.if treedying is thinking about signing any of these wj pencil necks he’d best get the grim reever back or back up the brinks truck for poone Jenner or some other grown man who can keep them out of a circle jerk in the change room🤦🏿♂️
C Also, pay biznasty 1m a year for bed checks home and away to keep these bumholes from jacking each other off after multi point games during the regular season🤦♂️
what a (frank)ing joke🤦🏿♂️
edit: nice alliteration 👍
edit: and we need a like button👍🏿 |

Would a Dube/McLeod be a potentially good hockey add to the bottom six? Dube for scoring and McLeod for speed and two-way play? Probably couldn't hurt.
Is it worth the headache for bottom-6 talent who have been playing in Europe assuming they will just walk into the NHL and be what they were (which was minimal and was "on the rise")? Not sure.
Is it worth the headache for bottom-6 talent with the Toronto media (owned by the company that owns the team!) to do this? Highly unlikley.
McLeod will go carve out a 4th line role somewhere, (frank) it...go with his bro in Buffalo, they don't care.
Dube is a strange case because he was the only guy hopeful to be a top-6 guy and was flirting with 2nd line potential before sucking in the KHL. I'd imagine some AHL team for him in a non-commercial team.
Cal Foote was a tweener at 24. I doubt any team really wants to take that risk outside of an AHL deal. He's probably best served staying in Europe.
Alex Formenton was the first guy to cut and run. Life in Switzerland is pretty sweet if they will keep you.
Carter Hart was struggling but is still young. He was getting the Carey Price treatment of why aren't you a god at 23. Regardless, this is a position of strength for the Leafs and not worth the headache of the media. I imagine Hart will get a deal with a team with bad goaltender depth. People say Oilers, I say Penguins.

The problem I'd have is that the result of that court case doesn't really leave me feeling that they're innocent. Things were ruled inadmissible, two juries were dismissed and the judge ultimately ruled herself and showed a considerable amount of personal bias in both the proceedings but also her ruling. When the crux of the judge's ruling was based on the fact that EM's recollection was inconsistent - I have been so drunk once in my early 20s that I woke up on a Monday morning only remembering the start of Friday night.
I think there are a lot of people who, like me, don't have the feeling that proceedings really cleared these guys. That's a really tough thing to swallow for any team when you consider the risks and the balance of what they provide. The only one who probably is worth the flier is Carter Hart and I'd really rather it not be Toronto that takes that chance (to your point, I don't know if I see Dubas taking that chance; it doesn't seem in his character).

I agreed with the judge and expected this outcome from the proceedings, at least the parts I read about. There certainly seemed to be reasonable doubt. |
