Don't get me wrong, Domi is 3rd line at best but he did work well playing with Matthews and Knies before.

There's no way Tree is getting 1RW and 2LW unless Rielly goes.

Rielly for McCann sets up the 2nd line.

Use picks/prospects and some combo of McMann, Kampf, Jarnkrok, Hildeby, Robertson...for Kadri

(and obvioulsy it could be two other guys but to see how much better the roster is balanced and tougher without Marner)

Then go with:

Knies, Matthews, Kadri
McCann, Tavares, Nylander
Marccelli, Roy, Domi
Joshua, Laughton, Lorentz

That line up would do major damage, full of thiccc necks and definitely not shrinking like shrivel Richards in a snow bank.....or something SKalapy like that.

That's with 15 forwards - too many for an NHL roster. Two of those clowns will be cut and if they're adding someone (which is why we're doing the math) then there's another one to go out.

If they intend on adding a top 6 fwd they have about $7-10M in space to play with.

I think the biggest problem is that there aren't any top end fwds available right now. And the Leafs have emptied their wallets over the last 5 years so not much to offer up.

Robertson is an RFA and doesnt count against the cap yet (not signed).

I dont see them adding a top 6 forward...even if they ship out Calle.
Which still only gives them $5m...nowhere near $10m
Maybe try to get a cheap 1 year player in september for whoever is left.
Save the money for next year.
