Case in point, Rutherford spoke honestly about the potential returns for Boeser and why he wasn't moved. It was deemed irresponsible at the time to not trade him, but he's recently resigned at below market value I dare say.
I know Don probably isn't thrilled, but even he can't hate the deal. Boeser becomes a depth player as the contract ages.
We absolutely need a 2C, as well as Pettersson to return to who he was a year and a half ago. If Petterson doesn't rediscover his game, what happens at 2C matters little. I certainly wouldn't move a bunch of prospects and picks for a 2C.
Those prospects are what has our Dline looking solid moving forward along with some forward help. You build upon that, and hope someone can grab the crown. If the team is good then you add towards the deadline.
