Wild day. Ekblad and Marchand staying, Marner sign & trade to Vegas (how do they still have cap space?), Provorov staying in Columbus, dozens of RFA signings.

Rangers… crickets.

From Vince

#NYR have extended qualifying offers to RFAs Talyn Boyko, Brendan Brisson, Will Cuylle, Dylan Garand. and K’Andre Miller.

Lucas Edmonds, Zac Jones, Arthur Kaliyev and Jake Leschyshyn were not qualified.

Jones becomes a UFA. Could draw interest as a bottom pair blueliner

I’m surprised 37 year old Marchand got a six year deal. Looks like AAV is slightly over $5M.

What are the cap stipulations when a player retires? It’s the only thing that makes the Marchy and Bennet signings make sense. Sign them to contracts they’ll retire on.

Honestly, as much as I want them to do something, I’m fine with them not being involved in any of the deals today. Too rich and not worth it.

Yea I’m kinda scared of what Gavrikov may cost.

Really just want Cuylle signed and a decision on Miller at this point. Maybe there’s another option to pair with Fox that materializes that we didn’t see coming.

Hey morn. I’m here. The other one was banned 👍

Zac Jones is no great loss.

He can definitely move the puck. That’s it. Below average shot that can’t get to the net. Can’t defend in his own zone.

I’d rather have Gavrikov and whatever assets we acquire for K’andre Miller than just K’Andre Miller

That’s how I look at it

Garikov is a very good player. Top pair worthy. Just his age and contract are going to age poorly.

The rangers very well could play better next year and probably will but their record might be worse. Wouldne be the worst thing with the McKenna draft

I just don’t think we will ever be that bad with Shesterkin

The only way we can get McKenna is having luck like Isles had this year where they won it with 3% chance

The Rangers are always good the first year when they change coaches too. I think we have as good a chance at the wild card as anyone.

Just make sure Cuylle goes nowhere. To me, that's priority one.

My guess is someone like Dvorak or Bjugstad is signed as the 3C Suter is too pricey. Gavrikov option 1, Dumoulin is option 2.

I’m still skeptical that a team would want to declare war on the Rangers who have an 11 mil player coming off their books next summer but we shall see

But I remember the Hurricanes GM when Montreal signed Sebastian Aho to an offer sheet. That is just saved him from having to work on it all summer. And ultimately an offer sheet could just make Cuylle a long term Ranger quicker
