Being that Key is a 5-year veteran player, the odds of getting a 1st rounder would likely only be through an offer sheet.
If Drury can get something better than a 1st and a 3rd rounders via trade, then it would be a miracle.
I say Key Miller, Berard to Utah for McBain, 2nd next year, and second in 2027. - mames11
I think they could easily get a first rder for Miller but I don’t mind the Utah deal you propose. |

Well it appears the Penguin blogs are gone, so Im HockeyBuzz homeless right now.
So you might be stuck with me more and more.
Any of you have thoughts on Dan Muse? Seems like a young coach who bases his coaching on player relationships. Also seems like a massive hockey nerd which Im sure Crosby will like. |

Hated losing Muse, I was pretty clear about that. Not thrilled with Peca going as well. Definite upside in Miss and his NTDP experience will be a plus as Pittsburgh gets younger. I think he is a really good hire by the Penguins |

It was a really impressive smoke show by Dubas. I didnt hear his name as a candidate until he got hired.
Its a shame the Penguins didnt get a higher pick. Muse worked with Hagens before, but in general, the young pedigree of player he's worked with is impressive. Seems like a good hire for the situation we are in. I am hoping Dubas puts him in a good position with some moves this offseason.
Glad to hear he was highly thought of in New York. It seems we each had a coach the other needed.

I'm told that Kreider's camp had informed Drury he would be amenable to going to Anaheim before negotiations began.
After being informed last night of the prospective deal, Kreider is now processing it all and going through his due diligence before he signs off on it.
There is no separation here between Kreider and NYR. |

Would’ve been great if a deal was just announced rather than all of this speculation for a day (and hopefully not longer). Seems to happens way too frequently lately. |

"We’re told by an informed source that while Anaheim was on his 15-team no-trade list that was submitted last July 1, Chris Drury was told by the winger’s party that he would be amenable to going to the Ducks before the GM entered talks with GM counterpart Pat Verbeek." |

I’d put a hefty wager on this being discussed around the time Trouba went there. Like at least with Trouba and Kreider on their own once he went to Anaheim. Discussing hey you should come here too type of thing. Vatrano too. They seemed tight when he was here too |

I don’t think you get picky with whether or not we are getting the Ducks 8th, 9th or 10th best prospect.
Kreider is clearly on the downside, had a 15 team NTC, 6.5 mil this coming year and next year, and the Ducks are picking up the whole tab.
Great career, loved the guy, always will. But you take the deal and run. - jimbro83

I wonder if the deal is being held up by Kreider passing a physical for the Ducks? If we are to believe that he was REALLY HURT BAD last season, maybe the Ducks need to be sure he has fully recovered... |

From Friedman
“Not expecting Chris Kreider/Anaheim trade to go through tonight…but told that doesn’t mean deal is in jeopardy.
We wait for tomorrow.”
These fringe insiders are annoying man, not calling him one, but so desperate for clicks.

It all just makes me kinda sad. I want more guys that play their whole career in a Blueshirt, not fewer. We've watched 2 all-time franchise greats get shafted by the business of the game. I understand it, but I don't like it.
Not to mention, Kreider is going to get healthy and next year score 40G/30A for Anaheim.

All we can do is hope for Kreider to succeed wherever he goes and win a Cup.
To your point, I'm STILL pissed about the way Leetch was treated. |

The end of Lundqvist's tenure wasn’t ideal either. |
