So when do we start dissecting the carcass??

I’m cheering for Dallas. I dont care about a ‘Canadian Team’ winning. I don’t want to see McJesus win it.

I watched a little Dallas V Peg and was impressed with how the Stars play…

Florida has more Canadian-born players than Carolina. So guessing you're a Panthers fan this round for those good ol' Canadian boys, eh?

Imagine..

Knies Bennet Marner
Konecny Kadri McMann
Domi Benn Wilson
Lorentz Laughton Foligno

- Horsey Sauce

That team doesn't make the playoffs.

He's just mad at the world right now, this too shall pass. The yearly Leaf fan and media meltdown is kind of comical to watch though, I'll admit.

I'm not watching any more, but it has nothing to do with any of the other teams, I just don't want to be tethered to the TV anymore.

Same, look at how Ottawa building the team right way. Leafs did too many bad moves and finally it shows.

The Leafs are a cautionary tale about over paying players before they win anything.

Everyone knew they were a poorly constructed team, it's been a point of discussion for the past few years. I would think the people who run the team are smart enough to know that, which is why Marner and Tavares weren't re-signed.

The Islanders had more success after Tavares left Long Island, two conference finals in 2019/20 & 2020/21, than they did with him there.

It's why this team shouldn't try to build a star-studded cast, but instead, look for character guys that don't shrivel under the pressure and rely on a team-first approach to winning.

It's too much pressure on the shoulder of too few... this isn't basketball.

Spending that much on so few players was never going to work in the cap era.

and if they do, they will spend the entire 4 playoff games in the penalty box.

I don't think this is necessarily true. IF the players they spent all the money on, were able to elevate their game, the way the stars of other teams are able to, the Leafs would likely have a cup by now.

I don't think it is ideal to give that much money to 5 guys, but it is a total fail to give that much money to 5 guys who wilt when the going gets tough.

But how much of that is a product of being in Toronto, where the loser energy hangs over this city like a bad fart?

Between Marner telling the bench to wake-the-(frank) up (exsqueeze me?!) and Matthews saying, "I just thought we had too many passengers throughout the rest of the game."... clean house.

The inmates run the asylum, and it's been going on for far too long.

Bad look on a captain slamming other players after he had a poop game

Elliott thinks Marchessault would be an ideal get for the Leafs. Marchand and Bennett too.

Need some character guys who can elevate their games.

Marchand is still a gamer, and wouldn't shrink in games like this. Have you not been watching at all?

FLA might not be able to afford to re-sign Bennett.

Bennett wouldn't get away with any of his elbow injuries in Toronto. He'd be treated like Kadri by league as soon as he got here
