Marner had to be the most useless POS games 5-7 again. He's simply not built to be a playoff performer. He'll happily go play for some irrelevant hockey market at 14 mil per with no pressure. He can't handle it. Matthews was Equally pathetic but he's under contract for a while lol

I know you guys have a love/hate relationship with Marner vs Nylander. But honestly isn't the answer just to get rid of both? Get rid of the entire core 5. They're all good players but it just simply didn't work.

Let Marner and JT walk. Try to trade Nylander, Matthews, and Rielly if they'll waive. And just retool or rebuild with the money and assets you get along with whichever of the core wasn't traded.

There's no sense in arguing who was more at fault or who is a better player, it really doesn't matter. All that matters is this combination of players doesn't work, clear as day. Time to start again.
