Agreed. They just keep wasting guys careers

As a Penguins fan I think this is a good thing. It just makes sense. He has the team pedigree the organization and fans want. He has experience and respect. I think he will do well there.

I am going to wait and see what they do this off season to see if it makes sense to bring in an older coach. Can they do something like Holmgren did in 2007? Loved Tocc as a player, will see what he brings to the table, hopefully not a pr stunt. I think Danny and Jonesy were very scared to bring in a college coach after Hextall/Hasktol.

DB was on NHL Network (Sirius XM) a couple of weeks ago and he sure made it sound as if they are gonna be status quo for one more season, and then try to make waves next off season. I guess we'll see if that changes now with Tocchet in the fold.

Status quo this season is what I expected, and I’m prepared for that. I’m sure we all are, right?

Big moves in following seasons make far more sense than attacking now.

Develop talent and make wise/lucky draft picks, and then have that off season when the kids are coming up like they did when they acquired Danny, Hartnell, and Timonen.

Maybe this means a legit shot at McKenna in the next draft. I’m trying to think of positives.
