No - Does not fit the Flyers timeline. Just one year left on a $10 million contract.

I know there is very little posted on this board.
Was there ever any update on the Ryan Ellis contract situation?

It was locked for a while.

And I agree. The time line doesn’t work with Eichel. I don’t think they make a splash this year. If they do, Rossi is the right age.

If it did happen, there would have to be an extension in place. The Flyers of old, would buy there way back. Lock in Eichel, find a way to sign Bennett from Florida, and add another not quite #1 D. You would have to empty the assets, though both Eichel and Bennett only have a year left.

That to go with MM, Coots 3rd C, pray like hell one of the goalies coming is the real deal. But wow, save % in playoffs is nothing special

I see Eichel or Bennett being on the verge of contract burden by the time they’re ready to compete. They’ll be past 30 with their best seasons behind them.

I really don’t wanna give more than a stopgap deal to anyone 28+ until they can make the playoffs.
