If we assume that it isn't some type of game management conspiracy . . . You know they went through the first round using the top 50% of the best referees in the game . . . and culled HALF of the refs who weren't good enough to carry on into the second round and just ask yourself - was that a penalty? Was that remotely a penalty? Even in peewee? If these are the top 25% the NHL referees that they can put out and that's the very first penalty call of the playoffs? They have a serious quality issue with these guys.
