Agents also work for and are employed by the players they represent. If you watched Knies' recent interview with David Amber he is really happy to be here and you have to think his instruction to his agent will be to get it done as opposed to squeeze every dime you can out of these guys.

Obviously I hope so. At the same time you never hear these guys come out and say, "Man I hate this team and the fans are jerks! I'll stay but they better be willing to PAY me for my inconvenience."

I guess it's whether you believe this is an act or genuine. In terms money, he may have to take a bit less with the Leafs, this is likely the reality. On the other hand, what situation would present better professionally for him?

With Tkachuck back to 100% and a fully healthy Cats squad, you guys are done in 5, 6 max. The ONLY chance you have is if the Cats hand you power plays all series, but- that didn't work out for the Bolts too well. The Panthers never stop, never get flustered, don't care what the score is, and will beat the living crap out of you while they come at you wave after wave. 4 full lines that can score any time. I'm hoping for a good series, but I don't expect it. |

These are both very very very good teams and Florida will be feeling good due to their health coming around and Toronto will be feeling good after taking a series.
Florida is a bit bigger and a little more physical and Toronto has a little more puck handling skill and talent but let’s face it, either team can very much handle their own on both sides of the game.
Honestly what I think this will come down to? Stolarz vs his old team. They know him and he knows them. I kind of believe whoever overcomes who when it comes to that will define the winner of this series.

Well, we get to hear about them lol
They should pay him whatever the hell he wants and just make Lafontaine the coach or something. |

If it weren't for the visitor team's fanbases showing up, it would be the end of the franchise. The Leaf and Hab fans coming to Buffalo keep them solvent. There's just no stability in their management group. They need to open the vault and hire a championship pedigree GM and coaching staff.

It’s even beyond that. I think it’s Pegula. He’s owned them since 2011 and that’s when they started going to poop. Their latest GM has only been there for what? 4 or 5 years now? |

Some of the talent that's been let go could build a playoff team. Ottawa has rebuilt their team with a few ex-Sabres. Cousins and Ullmark to name a couple off of the top of my head.

Interestingly, Kim Pegula was the President (ex cheerleader that married Terry Pegula)until 2023 when she suffered an incapacitating stroke. Terry has been in charge since then. It would be good for the franchise and the NHL if Pegula sold the Sabres.

Not much has changed with the Bills under Pegula. Lots of regular season success. Still 0 and 4 in the big game.

Yeah there have been moves I just didn’t get. Now by multiple GMs too.
I’m truly thinking the team has an owner who might be “instructing” a little too much. Don’t get me wrong I have no evidence of this but it is a legit curiousity of mine. |

Or, if not, simply step aside and hire people to do the work and simply be nothing more than the owner.
Like I say about most things I won’t pretend to know for sure what the answer is for them. |

Not saying they’re not a competitive family, this could simply be that it’s because they’re two different games and they know one well and the other not so well?
Like I’m saying I won’t pretend to know. The Sabres were good under the last owners, made the playoffs pretty routinely. |

It is certainly not a desired destination for NHL stars. Look at the players that have left there that have gone on to win cups. Six most recently, but three big ones that played major roles in winning Rielly, Reinhart and Eichel.

Yeah, I get that, it’s never been a place where a guy stuck around it seems, even after a long stint. Andreychuk is another. |
