Makita is going to go bankrupt. - Load Management
no poop, it is expensive traveling back and forth.
Although today I had to leave my wife behind because she has a medical appointment that interfered with these last 2 games. So I walked on the ferry and my brother came to pick me up. He said the #1 was a gong show so he took zero road back to Abbotsford, what a nice scenic drive.
Period one started out with Canucks dominating the flow of the game, but Texas just seemed to bide their time and wait out the pressure. Shots started out one sided but evened out after the 1st. Canucks looked as if they scored 1st and the fans jumped to their feet, the players stopped playing thinking they had score only for Texas to take it down ice to score. The overhead reply clearly showed an off the post rebound and not a Canucks goal, so damn deflating with a minute and half to go.
2nd period saw Texas with the early pressure but Silovs was on his game and kept the Canucks in it until the 13 minute mark when Texas took a 2 goal lead. Canucks finally seemed to see the game was getting away from them and stepped up the play. With a few minutes left in the period there was coincidental minors and 4v4, just seconds after Bains left the penalty box, he pounced on a rebound shot by Wolanin to cut the deficit to 2-1.
3rd period Canucks came out flying, they dominated the zone cycle game, the speed in which Bains and Sasson had down the wings was phenomenal, but their cross ice passes just weren’t getting the tip in and back down the ice. At the beginning of the 3rd I said to my brother that I was really disappointed in Khaira game, guy is huge but doesn’t use his size in any of the games I’ve seen. As as typically that happens when you openly criticize someone they score, 2-2. Klimovich and Blais were both wrecking machines on the ice, some really big hits that set the tone for the game. Just past the half way point, on a cycle in the offence zone Hirose took a shot from the point that Sasson was able to knock in, 3-2 Canucks. The boys never gave up pressing, no sitting back on this lead. With less than 2 Hellberg was pulled and Canucks were making a change and Bains jumps onto the ice intercepting the puck for a flip into the net. Refs all huddled, I was hoping they weren’t going to call too many men, and they didn’t, 4-2 game, set, match.
Unfortunately this is the end of my travels as I heading camping in our new to us travel trailer on the 17th - 27th which are the home games for Canucks.
It has been an expensive blast going to 4 rounds of playoffs, but that’s all she wrote folks. |

I think he’s here to stay. Foote just went golfing with Canuck “leadership group” consisting of Hughes, Pouty, and Demko. Foote has also publicly stated that he believes that Pouty will play a pivotal roll in his systems planning.
Pouty is also front and centre on all the new season ticket marketing for this coming season. That’s not cheap and I don’t see the Canucks spending that kind of money on someone being shopped.
Add that up and I would be stunned if they trade him. - bloatedmosquito
Pouty is not a leader. Foote is a p ussy if he thinks Pouty is a leader.
Demko is broken and should be traded in the off season. |

I think there is still reason for hope, but I'm frustrated too. It does feel like spinning tires, though at least this current management team has made less baffling moves than the last one.
Honestly I think with a (hopefully) full season of Demko, Pettersson returning to form, and Hughes leading the strongest D corps we've seen in a long time, they don't need a complete homerun trade to make the playoffs. They do need to get a solid 2C if they want to do any damage IN the playoffs though. - NorthNuck
Yeah things still need to play out. I'm not really dreaming about playoffs at this point in time . Next years draft is looking deep, it would have been nice to have an extra first there. Abby kids are playing great, Lekkerimaki is benched. Short summer, not sure I'm pencilling him into the starting line up next year.
Feels as if management is filling out the bottom of the line up with larger contracts again but forgetting how bad the top 6 is. |

Going to an interesting season, I’m still pissed Tocchet left but maybe I can muster some toxic positivity that Marwood loves to jump on. |

This team isn't built for a long run. Just look at the final 4. There wasn't a team they could touch. The Canucks are weak up the middle and have a top 6 that isn't going to match up with above average teams. Not to mention, every team is looking to improve these areas.
Probably losing Boeser and Suter. OEL recapture hits 4.7 mil. Huge question marks up the middle.
Looking like retool number 5 to me. |

Other than the Panthers, the Canucks are the only team to push Edmonton to 7 games in the last 2 years |

This.
Northy celebrating moral victories on the other hand.
Retool on the fly # 5 and counting because people like Northy and management seem to think they are 1 or 2 players away from being a contender. The reality is, that the Canucks are as far away from being a serious playoff contender as they've ever been.
They have the assets to change that but do they have the balls? |

Really? I thought Tocchet should have been fired. I’ve never seen a locker room crash and burn like we saw last season, especially considering how high expectations were after a good playoff run the season before.
Saying that, I also thought PA should have been fired for not improving areas of the team that obviously needed improving, like the defence. His summer moves actually made it worse.
Oh well, life goes on. |

The locker room crash was avoidable and because of that Rutherford & Alvin should've been sacked.
The only reason I'm pissed about Tocchet is the revolving door of coaches. Although, until they get rid of that cancer Pouty, it won't matter who coaches. |

They need to go back and start rebuilding a youthful core that grows up together, which means trading Elias Pettersson (40) at the very least - but they won’t, because despite his shortcomings as a person he’s an extremely talented player.
So many NHL teams just won’t accept a rebuild, because it’s not a guarantee and it’s an extremely long and painful process for the fans and financially for the organization.
Oh, and they need more Canadians, like me. |

The amount of definitive statements made about Petey is wild to me considering he built up a pretty long track record of being such a good player. A whole lot of you will look like morons if he scores 100 points again this year.
I'm not even defending him by saying that, it's just common sense as a hockey fan. |

I think he’s extremely talented, a strange kid, but extremely talented. If he scores 100 point but the team misses the playoffs or finishes bottom ten in the league, then what does it really matter? It doesn’t! The goal is to win the Stanley Cup. No one cares that David Pastrnak scored 100 points for Boston this year, they sucked, badly. |

Funny nobody had a retort for Canadians
factoring in on 15 of 16 goals in the finals stat.
Correlation and causation blah, blah, blah.

You know, I certainly don’t know what happened in the locker room, I have no idea if there were interference from Rutherford, Allvin or even Aquilini. Not privy to anything and I certainly don’t put any credence into reports from any social media sites that spew verbal diarrhea.
I liked Tocchet, I liked how he had systems, how he dealt with toxic media, and toxic negativity from all sides.
Just a statement that I am disappointed he moved on.
Now unfortunately I see you received a ban of 6 months for an absolutely stupid reason, it certainly wasn’t by me and I strongly disagree with whomever is indiscriminately banning posters.
