Sure, you can have Nikita Tolopilo or Ty Young, both a huge improvement over anything Leafs , but it would require a signed Marner or a high draft pick.

Hope you enjoy it! Nice run they're on. Allvin and Ruthy seem to have done a good job rounding out the farm team (even if it lacks the high-end skill guys)

You can have a signed Marner, at 12.5- 14, then you have 2 of the most over-rated, undersized and grossly overpaid players in the league.
Ty young would be a nice addition to the Leafs prospect pool, which is pretty thin, although not nearly as bad as your Canucks pool.

Most first rounders don't spend much time on the farm team, if they do it's one and done usually. Which I think is a mistake. It's valuable experience to learn how to be a pro player and an adult.

That 2003 NHL draft is one of the greatest in NHL history, I personally think it has a lot to do with the lockout sending most of the first round to the minors for a year to develop and grow as players and as people.
