I didn't say it doesn't matter. I said anything can happen in single elimination tournaments. My argument is we need more Canadians on the Canucks roster to succeed in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Not a game in the Worlds. You're turning it into something completely different. That's fine, but at least be accurate about what I've written.
But, you seriously believe the World Championships are the same sort of Hockey as the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs?
Just ridiculous. - Load Management

Again, NHL players are playing in it with the intention of winning it for their country, I never said it's the same as the Stanley Cup. Be intellectually honest, you started by saying that a winner takes all elimination game in the WHC isn't a game 7 when it by definition is, as it's win or go home, just like a game 7. Is it EXACTLY like the SC Playoffs? No, and it's never going to match that intensity as it's a round robin tournament and teams aren't playing each other in a series of games where bad blood has a chance to develop and I'll give you that.
I just equate Canada losing to a vastly inferior team to putting a lie to your contention that having a ton of Canadian hockey players will give the team the heart to win championships when clearly that's not true. You can say they had a bad game or that they took Denmark lightly (and that may very well be true) but it doesn't make the players or Team Canada look good regardless. It's not like we sent a B-squad over there either, Crosby is a 3 time SC winner and Conn Smythe trophy winner, MacKinnon's won a Cup and most of the other players on the roster either have won Cups or at least gotten to the SC Finals. Yet with all that "heart" and "Cup winning experience" they lost to a team full of AHL and lesser league talent who clearly wanted it more. |

The NHL's 4 Nation thingy will take even more attention away. Talking about North American audience.
The WHC is a euro tourney for Europeans and that's cool, but doesn't grab my attention.

Speaking of... Watched the FLA game. That Forsling guy is pretty good. I checked out his numbers and they are decent, for a defenseman. His playoff numbers are better.
Yet, he’s bounced around the league a bit. Canucks trading him for Clendening. Florida eventually plucking him off waivers from the Hurricanes in an interesting twist.
Now he’s got a cup ring and may win another. Benning sucks.

Can the Canes go 0-16 over 4 years in the ECF? Heading to Florida, they must be a little shook |

Someone learned a new word.
Barkov is my favourite player, but I absolutely love playoff Bennett. It's not like Carolina is a bad team. The Panthers just have such a great team game. Like a pack of sled dawgs. The engine is greater than the sum of it's parts. |

Bennett would be one of my UFA targets if I was PA. Marner, Ehlers and potentially Benn would be on that list as well. |

Bennett feels like he's going to get massively overpaid, especially to go to a Canadian team. He'd be great, but not for like 8+ that he's going to get. |

Bennett has been my number one since we traded JT. Marner is a massive mistake, luckily he apparently doesn't want to play in Canada (Lebrun)

Agreed.
Plus he’ll go to a contender.
Not sure why he’d leave Florida tbh. |
