These teams that keep advancing in the playoffs, year after year, seem to have a decent amount of Canadianss on their teams, heck, Florida has 8, which I believe is the least amount, of the remaining 5 teams.
How many Canadians do your Canucks have? |

It's been brought up a couple times by some of the more intelligent posters. 1 if you don't consider Myers Canadian. 2 if you do. While our minor league team that is doing well in the playoffs has over 10 on it's active roster. Funny how that works. |

Yeah, if only we had more Canadian players, we'd be guaranteed success, like;
Anaheim, Buffalo, Calgary, CBJ, Chicago, NJD, Nashville, NYI, Phi, Pitts, Seattle, SJS, Utah
it's so simple!

Nothing guarantees success, but it you grew up playing hockey in Canada you dreamed of winning the Stanley Cup. You rehearsed it in your head thousands of times , if not more. You simply want it more than the average hockey player and that does have an effect at the end of the day. |

Thereโs definitely some merit to that notion, teams win Championships and your role guys are so important in the playoffs. You live and die with your highend guys though, even teams that play with amazing structure.
Top five scorers in the 2025 playoffs right nowโฆ

I was reading about this recently, how more and more evidence is pointing towards NHL stars carrying teams (rather than depth, or the notion that defence wins championships) of late. |

You don't need a teams full of them, but you need a real presence. I still think you need a French Canadian just to keep the room light. |

No. You need some Canadians and players that are comfortable playing the North American style. Then some guys that have won before. And, most importantly, a hot Goalie. |

Certainly, true for me.
Unfortunately, there aren't enough star goalies from Canada to go around these days.
