"We're going to be in the free agent market if we still have cap space at that time," says Jim Rutherford. "But we may get our work done before then."
Sounds like #Canucks are going to move quickly.

That's great. I don't really care who the coach is until we got better forwards. Goalies and de are fine but there are 2 top 6 forwards in Debrusk and Petey of petey decides to play again. Garland is fine but a 3rd liner on a winner |

Can't wait for your extra salty tear pies on July 1st when Petey is still with the team - NewYorkNuck
Or he goes to contender and pushes them over the top, that would be so Canuck. |

Going to the next one on Sunday.
Tonight’s game was really exciting, Canucks came out flying, hit everyone close to the puck, and hit them hard. Canucks are a really good defensive team, Silovs was able to see every shot and earned his second straight shutout. Canucks controlled the play in the 1st period but every shot was wide, that was frustrating because they played so well.
The second was even better, they had to kill the remaining penalty from the 1st and took a cheesy interference penalty a few minutes later and killed them off to give momentum to the Canucks and they just dominated but couldn’t put the puck in the net, until the the last 6 minutes when Colorado took a slashing penalty and Blais passed from behind the net to Mueller out front who potted his first of the playoffs.
The 3rd got physical again with Abby just laying the body and Colorado getting pissed and trying to cheap shot because they were getting hammered. Karlsson took a interference penalty with 3 minutes left but Colorado didn’t pulled the goalie until the penalty ended and tried a cross ice pass that Mancini intercepted and flew down the ice to put it in the empty net.
Now I saw Klimovich warm up but he didn’t hit the ice, Lekkermaki didn’t hit the ice until half way through the second then he saw more ice time but it was sporadic. De Giuseppe left everything on the ice, every shift. |

Glad you're getting in some playoff action. Good luck charm over there.
How do you feel they're playing compared to the big club? Noticeable difference in systems? |

Tocc explains why he left for Philly: https://www.broadstreetho...fridays-press-conference/
Most telling part IMO:
Q: What sold him on becoming the Flyers’ head coach?
Tocchet: As a coach or anything in life you want to check the boxes. Stability. Box checked. Relationships. Box checked. Passion and the area and the fan base. Box checked. I’m a big relationship guy. I know just from the past being here and working with good people makes you successful. So for me those are the attractive things. Obviously the roster and the potential. The prospect pool, the cap space that’s coming here. There’s a lot of positives for this job. It’s an attractive job. I think it’s one of the best jobs in hockey. I’m very fortunate to get it.
Q: What gives you the confidence the Flyers are a stable organization?
Tocchet: Going through the plan, if you look at it, what do coaches want? There’s a lot of draft picks, there’s a lot of prospects, untapped talent. The stability obviously of ownership. I walked around the practice facility, the bowels, there’s so many tools to work with. They have three sheets of ice. As a coach you’re like, ‘Oh my god!’ These are the things you want as a coach. So those are attractive things to help me be a better coach.

Tocc can suck a big fat something that rhymes with Tocc.
The fact that things got too hard for him and it was easier to abandon ship says alot about him. I'll use one of his things he preached, he always talked about meeting pressure with pressure. I guess that only applied on the ice.
Good riddance Rick.

I don't care so much that Tocchet left, but it's a pretty telling indictment of Aqua and ownership |

I agree whole heartedly with that. Ever since aquaman and family purchased this franchise it's been more bad times then good and the city and it's fans deserve better. |

Personally, I'm extremely happy he's going back to the Flyers organization. I think he'll find success there for several different reasons. That being said, I'm very happy with Adam Foote for the Canucks and I'm hopeful the dysfunction, outside of Aquilini being Aquilini, is gone from the dressing room. |

Don't know much about the whole Aquilini interference thing but apparently according to most in here it's quite the big deal. I do remember Rutherford commenting in one of his early press conferences that Ownership would not be an issue moving forward or something like that? Not 100 percent sure but that doesn't appear to be the case right now with so many wanting out of the organization at ALL the various levels. |

Hearing that they are trying to acquire at least 2 of the 3 Pettersons, should make your Flyers a bit better

I watched it on flohockey, hirose looks good at this level, Blais was a wrecking ball, Mancini is a wall, lekker looks lost but he made a good defensive play on the wall that created a 3 on 1. |

Yes - gonna be a great summer/draft and hopefully a great year next year. So glad Torts is gone, I will follow them more closely now that he's out of the picture. |
