The Sens didn't let Leafs play their best hockey in round 1.
It's true the Sens could've won this series, but it's also true that the leafs haven't played their best hockey yet. Round 2 should be great ! - AlfieisKing
It's also true the Sens could have been swept...sooo not sure anyone wants to play the maybe what if coulda woulda should game. |

The one good post that Jewel was making was posting highlights with Bowen calls.
Of course he can't be as consistent with that as his continual hawt wrong takes.
Oh well, maybe someone will post it later. - underhill14
Leafs Jelly HD on youtube. Has highlights with Bowen audio up within minutes of games ending. |

Yeah the Leafs hit a post in OT of game 4 if I recall. That's hockey.

That's why it's a best of seven series. You might get lucky one game, but you still have to win 4 and that usually is no fluke when the winning team does it. You don't lose 4 games to a team by accident. |

There's also the undeniable fact that the Senators suck.

I think the Leafs style of play gave the Sens a false sense of accomplishment.
Leafs are opportunistic in terms of scoring. Not a high volume of shots usually generated or needed. Turnovers, Powerplay, break outs etc. Leafs are sit back and defend based style.
18 - 12 - 1 when we outshoot teams.
33 - 12 - 1 when we get outshot.
35 - 1 - 1 when we lead after two.
Close games are what these guys thrive under. 21 - 6 in 1 goal games.
Toronto winning close games vs Ottawa is what they've done all season. Winning well more than they lose. This wasn't Ottawa giving us a ton of trouble.
Ottawa never had the lead in almost all the games. They never beat our goalie more than 3 times (only did it once in fact) in 60 minutes. To suggest this series was close is just not giving the Leafs enough credit. |

Agreed but it's hard to feel like the opposing team 'deserves' to win sometimes when they are outshot, outhit at times etc.
I mean look at how many times we as Leaf fans come playoffs were like "we deserved to win, we got goalied, the refs screwed us etc etc. etc" in the playoffs by teams like Tampa, Boston, hell even Florida to some degree last time we lost to them.
I think it's an adjustment for us as Leaf fans because it's a style we have really never seen this core play before. That being said f it's successful I'm more than fine with fans of other teams saying they coulda' woulda' shoulda' won because they outshot the leafs etc. so long as the end result is the Leafs just keep chalking up the wins.
Losers will say it's dumb luck or the refs or the league fix or whatever and that's fine, it's almost like a right of passage with good teams now a days it feels.
I mean we have all heard this about Tampa, Boston and the Panthers in past years why not us now?
I mean my stress levels are through the roof and what not but why not us? lol

This guy Tanev is an utter beautician. Is there a better value contract in the league? He's just so good. - fifty__missions
He is. Wish we had him five years sooner. Got him now though. |

Carlo and OEL were also great moves imo. And we're getting something from Laughton now. - fifty__missions
I think Laughton is winning a lot of us over. Wasn't feeling that after the trade, but slowly he's got a role. Great piece moving forward |

I never see us handing out moral victories. We go after our own in losses, the top dogs most often. I think we foolishly thought we accomplished something taking Washington to six with all the over times. Better days were not ahead. |
