I honestly think they were terrified of that exact reality. We all just assume letting the Habs come back from 3-1 down was the Leafiest thing ever, but letting Ottawa win would have been worse, by a lot.

I'd love to have Brady on the Leafs. He's a total gamer. He's a lot like Roberts and Tucker. Skating is the greatest but he goes to the net and he's tough in the corners. He'll do anything to win and drags his team-mates into the battle. Without him, this series was a sweep. Sure, you can hate the guy, but the compete level was next level compared to any player on either team.
