problem is there aren't many out there and teams rarely move them.

They drafted Reinbacher because they needed a top RHD

They wont chase for an older one on the market this summer

The rebuild is moving on

Reinbacher or Mailloux will be in the NHL next year as bottom pairing RHD, either trade or UFA a more experienced D RHD will come over on 1st pairing until Reinbacher or Mailloux show they are ready, more likely someone via trade with 1 or 2 year term left

Mailloux may never reach the NHL

Reinbacher has much more potential

They cant lock a vet long term with a guy like that coming up next season

they wont contend for the cup next season, they can wait for Reinbacher to get there

yeah, mixing sweets and alcohol ain't for me lol.

I'll have the ice cream after a good meal as a dessert, and drink alcohol later in the evening.

2C and top pairing RHD priority
- habs88888

We also need couple of tough guys to replace the softies we have on the 3rd and 4th…

Arber little brother may be given a try(maybe he needs an extra year with La roquette) but would be good to find our own Wilson….

Priority is 2C…

If they decide to spend that kind of money, I think this is where they should put the bacon…

Still think the fit is Bennet if he hits the market. A line made of Bennet, Dach and Demidov would be very solid!

Other guy I would like is Horvat but not sure if NY will go on rebuild mode and would part with him. Not too old and not small…

yep #2C no doubt.

Hughes also has to decide who he wants on that team going forward.
to me Newhook is a 3rd line winger. do you want him on your 3rd line or do you prefer having Anderson and Gally? we often said how this team needs to get bigger and grittier... so Newhook on the 3rd, not sure.

to me Evans is a #4C, so they also need someone to take Dvorak's spot on the 3rd. worse case scenario Evans will move up and Beck/Kapanen will center the 4th (en attendant que Hage soit prêt).

Bennett, Duchene, Nelson, Tavares, Granlund.

Any of those would be a major upgrade

And unless he's traded (which is possible despite his value being at an all time low) Kirby Dach may very well have a role with this team.

Perhaps not 2nd line centre, but maybe on the wing? He has one more year to prove he can fit somewhere.

Newhook can center the third line but he needs to get better at faceoffs

meh, pretty difficult to have success in this league when you're always running after the puck. sure Newhook could center the 3rd line, but if you build a winning team he is not.
