What if Sullivan only comes if he demands the rangers keep Kreider. He did bench Connor for him at the 4 nations lol
- TPC

How did that work out?

Was demand number one trade Sid? Joking lol
- TPC

Hopefully his first demand to Dolan is Krieder stays. Him going from a leader like Crosby to the Rangers leadership will be interesting. I could see Panarin and him having some issues, but he managed to make it work with Malkin.

Ill be interested to see Sid's reaction. Sid hates change and he actively wanted Sullivan to stay even after the playoff let downs from 2018.

I could see Sully's demands to the Penguins involving more say on hockey operation decision making and/or requests for next year's team.

Sully could go to Boston. Regardless, he won’t be unemployed long you’d think.

But man he could make the rangers great again!!

Yep if next year goes poorly I wonder if Sid would

The group of players I think would be most at risk of getting passed up by Sully would be 1) bad skaters and 2) players with low work ethic or low hockey IQ.

He will have some exceptions and you will wonder why Player X keeps getting a jersey some nights, but generally he gives guys who deserve chances an opportunity.

Maybe we can trade you Karlsson - Sully LOVED Karlsson. (sarcasm tone).

- SuperHenderson13

Those who deserve ice time should be given it. Those who deserve to move in the pecking order, should get it again. Scrap the man to man D because the D lacks the foot speed to play that way. Need a better structure.

Fair enough. I'm just very sour on him because I thought he was crap during his Rangers tenure.
- JRR1285

I have a different view. The team was rolling before COVID hit. The following year they struggled and then the Tom Wilson incident happened, which changed the tenor of the organization. Grier hired and then fired him in San Jose, but he was hired in Pitt and was on Team USA in 4 Nations, which indicates what the masses think of him

Based on this, Knicks better go far in playoffs giving Dolan additional revenue. The recent agreement on absolvement of MSG fees certainly helps his bottom line.

You'll keep Kreider. Rempe on the other hand... Hopefully none of you bought his jersey. Sully HATES fighting. He has no use for players like that even if they can play a little.

Rempe can play. That’s the problem with everyone. He actually isn’t a goon 🤷🏻‍♂️

The public perception of Rempe compared to what he was after the last suspension is massive spread

His skating alone improved as the season went on.

Lavy never had the foresight to use him in front of the net on the PP where he can be really good. He has good hands in close and obviously hard to move

I can't stand it. Still have some more to go but I'm improving pretty fast.
- JRR1285

Glad to hear it, man.
I've just had it confirmed that I have surgery on each shoulder in my (hopefully near) future.

I know he can play a little, but you have to admit when he first broke into the league he was fighting everybody. I can't say I've watched a ton of the Rangers this season, but it seems like the league/refs has him marked for somebody who takes bad penalties. Some of his hits go bad because of his size mis-match. I thought he had an "unfair" penalty against the Pens this season.

Anyway... Just thought I'd stress how bad Sully hates fighting and retaliatory penalties. You won't play if you do either of those things.

Rangers need a hard ass behind the bench. Someone who exudes anger on his face, to me that’s Sully. Tocchet has it too

I think the thing with Rempe is, he wants to be good hockey player. And not a fighter. He might suck at fighting anyway lol he barely won any

Sully isn't a hard ass per se. He's more of a focus guy. That's how he got the Pens those two cups. The Pens were so undisciplined until he showed up. Full credit to him, he put a stop to it. We don't have those two additional cups with out him. If he goes there, he'll be good for you.

If it’s Sullivan, 1st order of business, trade Laf for Bryan Rust plus something. The guy knows how to play hockey. Plus he’d save 3 mil in the process.

The team needs the right D structure and to hold everyone accountable. I would prefer a younger coach, but if it’s Sullivan and he keeps Peca, that would be a good combination

I wonder if he’d bring Todd Reardon (spelling?) with him. That guy who looks like Kevin from The Office. Wasn’t that his right hand man that got fired?

Sully has had some terrible defensive personnel on the Pens and got the most out of them.
