Carle is very comfortable in that Denver environment. He’s not desperate. I agree with you that he may be downplaying a desire to be an NHL coach. He knows what he wants and I think he has a good idea of where he has a good chance for success.Vancouver looks too messy and Philly isn’t close enough yet. But I could be wrong.

I don’t think he’s desperate, at all. I think he’s hungry.
Carle is still very young and he has a great gig, but the iron is hot and no doubt he is aware of that.
As for Philly not being close, haha, you bet. Can’t argue that. But hey, that could be the project you want. It’s certainly the kind of project you can get. At least they have one very special young player and a top 6 pick to start with. Plus, at one time it was a proud franchise in a big market. That’s gotta be more appealing than say Buffalo, even if the present stink is the same. And yeah, we’re Buffalo level stank right now.
If a situation is turn key, why would they be looking for a head coach? And in the off chance someone
is close and looking for a head coach (who again?), why would they choose a kid to get them a Cup instead of a known quantity?
As we agreed, he’s playing it close to the vest, complimenting his present situation (as he should), and fielding offers.
He’s lookin for someone who will spend money and be hands off.
Yes. Hands off, brass. You want a shot, you gotta let him work.
