I'm waiting for Rare Jewel to make an appearance and tell me again how it's "far from over" because the 5 on 5 play is superior for the sens (even though the leafs have 2 to 1 goals tonight 5 on 5)
- Aaron_85

He probably had a whole "SEE I WAS RIGHT" manifesto typed out & ready to go while he was was pulling the crusty sock out from under his dresser where he hides it from mom when Stollie gave up that one goal that was kinda' m'eh.

Then Stollie shuts the door, Benny wins it in OT and he got limp as an overcooked spaghetti noodle and cried himself to sleep.

So apparently sens are in trouble with the league for shooting pucks at Stolarz in warmups according to Dreger. Looking into punishment.

Not sure how against the rules this is but ok lol.

- Santo_44

Really?

If this was in beer league, there would be a violent beating.

Well, aren't the teams separated by the red line when they warm up? Lost pucks are just pushed back.

What a weird thing to do.

Probably wasn't much of a shot, otherwise we might have gotten a good old warmup brawl!

Yeah, no.

At the end of the day, they want the Leafs to win the Stanley Cup, because having the Leafs play brings in viewers.

I'm not going to listen to them break down last night's Minnesota-Washington game.

But I do think they like to criticize the Leafs - and every other team - because pointing out things they do wrong makes them "experts."

- Atomic Wedgie

agreed.

Pointing out flaws makes them honest professional experts.

Pointing out positives makes the brainless delusional Homers

The main TSN1200 guys have kind of fallen off it, but Frankie Corrado is all in on the collapse. I think this has been a really good series. A bit boring because the Leafs just play that way with a lead now, but it's a great chess game. I doubt the Leafs sweep, but I also don't think the Sens have a historic comeback in them...but then again I guess all of us thought that Canadian Division win was in the bag...

I find the dialogue around this series kind of strange because the Core-5 are finally doing it on the stats sheet, but they are still underperforming pooplords who suck?

I mean, they aren't MacKinnon, McDavid or Kaprizov scoring like 3.5 PPG or something stupid, but they're finally doing what we all hoped.

- AdamFrench

So long as they’re drawing the attention of Ottawa’s primary defenders they still make life easier for the rest of the team right? lol

I get the doubt of the sweep too, tho I kind of hope for one, because I only think Ottawa female doges about it for 2 days before their attention gets distracted

Since the Sens whined about the officiating the powerplays have been 7 - 3 in favour of the Sens. Learn from this Berube when we're losing.

So.
Sens season ticket holder here.

Game was good.

Leafs....remind me of that year Ovi finally smartened up and played defense and won a cup. There's a sense of "we" and no "me" in their game. The shot blocking, the smart plays to keep pucks out of dangerous situations. Absolute domination in the face off dot..and I can't stand Tavares but he looks HUGE...like..just a big human who's hard to contain. And honestly Matthews and Marner appear to be coasting because they can----they haven't even opened up offensively like they're able to. When they need to....(the goal in the first minute of the 3rd period).....I was just sitting there thinking...."they're just playing with us". That pass from Marner...there was a kid in a Marner jersey in front of me..I just leaned forward and said "that's a 14 million dollar pass"

Yes Brady appears to be skating on one leg. Sure Jensen is hurt too. but...this series is over. And I'm not sure if they were both 100% that the Sens would be winning more than a game.

Dreger said some Sens players and shots so this was happening a lot

Enough to make it obvious there was intent

Probably some fines maybe?

I used to work at this little machine shop on colonnade. For half the day I’d sit at this table and deburr or heat treat parts. I’d have a little radio with the Team 1200 playing all day. They were so amateur and huge Sens homers. I sorta miss that job, it was therapeutic.

It's the ploy you can only play once. Every coach does it and sometimes it works (Maurice, Berube, Julien, Cooper etc.) and sometimes it fails (Keefe, Lavi, McLellan). Green had to pull his chute early. I'm sure we'll see some complaints in the next round.

I just wanna talk hockeh
Bennyotte is the most unassuming defensive attacker the Leafs have seen in a while. Where’d he get his balls from? He moved through the neutral zone earlier in the game like a hot knife through buttah.

Yeah NO to you too Wedgie!

I agree they want the Leafs to win the cup because you are right in brings in viewers / clicks etc. but until they think that's a real possibility the "Leafs are going to blow it" narrative brings in MORE viewers in my opinion.

You can't honestly tell me you think the Leafs get the same level of criticism / or get the same level of props and respect as other teams do when they are up 3 games to none? Hell they won game 1 6-2 and the bulk of the reporting was "Sens have a lot to be happy about in that game blah blah blah". Sure feels to me like even when the Leafs get their props it's quickly followed by a 'but the Sens'....

And as far as the other reply about otherwise they would be viewed as Leaf homers - what's wrong with that exactly if it's a Toronto based media source like say the Star? Why is it ok for other teams but not Toronto?

It's not like they are the Swiss Maple Leafs!!!!!!

I'm just convinced the Leafs get less credit and more scrutiny that most if not all other teams by their own 'local' media. I guess I kinda' understand why a TSN or Sportsnet crew wants to seem more impartial as they are 'national' but I still feel it's unbalanced - including some of the in game play by play folks quite often.

Leafs are up 3-0 in the series and the sun is shining so things could be a lot worse!

Travis Green has been the biggest loser.

Saying his team has deserved games and leafs have had too many bounces.

Both their game 2 goals were luck

Don't like that loser mentality. Part of why that group doesn't have the big moment in them. Awful leadership.
