i have been trying to read up on this. i think this is a '
show trial against Hockey Canada and these players will be found not guilty. if these players really assaulted that girl they would have been found guilty and giving jail terms. now it will be up to Gary Bettman to allow them back in the NHL

The whole point is that it wasn’t investigated thoroughly, by the police or Hockey Canada, in the first place. The victim was paid off and the hope was it would all just go away. They’re just doing what they should have done in the first place. At least they’re acknowledging that something wrong happened and it shouldn’t just be ignored.

I guess 5 different sets of lawyer/defendants will take time.

It came to light after someone asked what this 3 million dollar slush fund was for in the Hockey Canada financials…..after it was disclosed it was “pay off $” all hell broke loose….Hockey Canada is a government body. It takes in a lot of money from every kid that plays organized hockey….no parent would think that $ would or could be used to cover up a potentially heinous crime. Is this day in age that’s not going to fly.

Especially considering it’s not just an isolated case. In addition to this latest incident Hockey Canada has paid $8.9 million to 21 other complainants since 1989.

I thought the big uproar was because Hockey Canada received federal funding? Non-hockey playing residents couldn’t be happy about their tax dollars going to bail out a bunch of out of control jocks.

Well, at least Rocky won’t be coaching the PP next year. I guess that something?
